Staff was nice and breakfast was ok until I saw a roach! I let one of the food service workers know and she apologize and said she let the appropriate people know. She said they had just had the area sprayed not too long ago. Aside from that the rooms were clean as well as the rest of the hotel. I’d still recommend this hotel.
The price is fantastic, the pool is nice, the breakfast is amazing! Maids do a nice job, maybe need to sweep & mop tho, our feet were pretty dirty just an hour after checking in so we wore socks or shoes the rest of our 5 day stay. Only negatives, there was glass out by the pool by a table. The walls must be super thin cause you can hear both sides of the room! Front desk was always nice & there whenever you needed them.
Comfortable bed and pillows. We actually got in the hot tub and it was wonderful. I was amazed on how the sound proof the walls were. There were several children across the hall, and once they made it to the room, we never heard them when they were in their room.
We were waiting for bacon for 30 minutes at 7:59 because they ran out. The breakfast lady told us they were cooking it. They brought it out finally but only brought 4 pieces, when most people (around 7 or 8 plus me and my 2 daughters) were waiting for it. Only 2 people were able to get bacon. A lot of people were craving bacon so how can they barely provide any? No refills? When they refilled the sausage 3 times.
On top of that, when I got to my room and took a shower after a 7 hour drive, the shower was clogged. Water did not drain and I had to call for them to fix it the NEXT day.
Everything else was great. The room and lobby were all clean with a neutral scent. Customer service was good too.
I hate being that person that writes a negative review but if you’re considering staying here, DON’T. My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights and it was the worst hotel experience of our lives. We stayed on the third floor and quickly found out that we were directly underneath the laundry rooms; This caused our entire room to shake and vibrate, as if it there was an earthquake happening throughout the entire day. We found this out by calling the front desk. If they are aware of this, then should not place people in certain rooms.
During the evening time, I began to smell sewage throughout our entire room. When we went outside of our room, the entire hotel and outside smelled of sewage. It was horrible. The walls are PAPER thin. You will hear any and every conversation that takes place in the hallways. Although I can’t control what people do, I was woken up by loud music being played by the people next door to us.
Lastly, the brightness of the room is unbearable. The curtains do not mask any type of light from entering the room.
I’m glad it was a quick trip for us but for those who might be in the area longer, avoid coming here. It’s worth spending more to not have to deal with the things at this hotel. The only thing positive about this hotel, is the location. You are near a lot of things in Destin by staying here but THAT IS IT.
My room and stay were an integral part of a perfect experience for my first time in Destin. My advice is that if you are only using the room to sleep/shower like I was, make sure you ask for a room that does not have a connecting door or bring earplugs. My neighbors stayed up later than I did, and I could easily hear them talking. My ear plugs rectified this situation easily, however.
Priced too high. I've stated in $50 motels with better service, and comfortable rooms without holes in ceiling. Staff did not seem to want to be anything but the bare minimum. At $125 a night minimum it was not worth it. Took a $100 deposit and refunded it as soon as I checked out. Not even checking the room first. Why even take the deposit if you don't check the room? More of an inconvenience. Towels were soft and they had name brand bar soap. That is literally the highlight of the place. Asked to use the water machine where breakfast was served and was told it was only accessible during breakfast. I was told i could access the gym and there was a water fountain thing there. There was. And was bone dry. Furniture looked as if was falling apart. Could feel springs of mattress, dingy lighting. Would have rather spent an extra 50 bucks and stayed somewhere else.
Overall, this hotel has a nice appearance on the outside and lobby. It's a quiet, clean hotel overall. Keep in mind when booking, there is NO BEACH ACCESS close to hotel, closest is 1 mile. However, there is a grocery right next door and also a few nice, busy restaurants. Neutral on friendliness of staff.
