Internationally travelling with a layover in Charlotte I booked this place for a shower and some sleep in between flights. The hotel communicates with me that I could arrive late no problem. My room would be held. Great. Except, they never told me they previously had a broken water main so there was no water for showers or toilets. They told me this on their property, after a $20 cab ride, instead of previously in the text thread we were communicating in. They forgot to mention that. This place is basically so seriously guilty of withholding important facts that I feel this organization is a huge group of liars and should not be trusted by anyone. A partial refund was given and it cost another $20 cab ride to get back to airport, where security was closed, so my wife slept on a cold tile floor with me pulling an overnighter before our second day of travel because I have to gaurd her and our belongings. This place totally ruined this leg of our travel, shorted us $40 on our refund, and cost us $40 in cabs since this all happened when they didn't happen to have a shuttle driver. Stay away, be warned. The lobby didn't even seem clean. What a gross place. They scammed me. I got an $80 ripoff and a night on an airport floor.
Though this hotel is a bit older, it is kept nicely clean and organized. Service was friendly and professional. Location was a wonderful surprise! It is actually closer to the airport than I originally expected. It was fantastic to see the planes taking off and flying right over the hotel! Great for taking pictures! (And yes, the rooms were sound-proof enough to be able to get a good night's sleep).
The room was nice and staff were super friendly. The hotel is such a convenient location in relation to the airport, and the airport shuttle was a huge help. We also were able to pre-check in online, which meant we could just pick up our key and go to the room. Overall a great experience, would stay here again if flying through!
The rooms are a dated but the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. The client service was top-notch. Lateisha helped me check in and was fabulous! She was so friendly and quick even though it was very late.
Great location for a one night stay before I took an early morning flight--shuttle got me there in time. I was able to book the shuttle the night before and it was no problem to bump up my time the next morning. Would have been nice to have a to-go breakfast bag for my early morning flight since I left at right before 6 when breakfast was put out.
Surrounded by trees, free shuttle, comfy beds, great pillows, iron, hot shower, pump action shampoo, showel gel.and conditioner, clean towels, large room, helpful staff and complimentary breakfast... everything you need for a connecting layover at CLT. The decor is aged but fine for the price.
Small Restaurants to pick something up for eat near by. Although a supermarket. Just a few minutes walking.
The airport is nearby. Without traffic 6 min to the terminal. With traffic easily 19 min or more!
After my flight was cancelled I stayed at this Wingate and it was a relief to find a hotel near the airport. The staff here are very helpful, warm, and welcoming. They made the three days I spent here relaxing while I waited to head back home. The room was comfortable, clean, and had all of the amenities I needed for my impromtu stay. The hotel is a walkable distance from several restaurants and grocery stores which was very helpful.
I was even permitted to remain in the lobby area after I checkout since my flight was an overnight.
I am very grateful I had such a comfortable place to stay while I waited to get back home.
