Best WLM Reviews

We had an absolutely wonderful time! In town for a weekend basketball tournament and Wingate put us in the perfect spot. We were only minutes away from everywhere we needed to be. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful with any question I had. I chatted with their maintenance man for a little and had he was super friendly as well. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast had a good selection and was refilled before anything ever ran out. Overall, amazing time and would definitely stay here again
I will begin by saying that hotel staff was professional and courteous and the towels were soft. The good news ends there.| |We asked to drop luggage off earlier in the day on the 3rd, rather than take a fully packed car into Charleston. We were charged a $25 early check-in fee, even though the room was ready, and we were not staying. I understand this is policy, but was disappointed there was not a luggage holding room for guests.||We didn’t return to the hotel until after 8 pm to pick up keys for the second room.||When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with the strong odor of marijuana from someone smoking out front. After waiting quite a while for someone to appear at the front desk, we picked up the second set of keys and headed to our rooms only to discover one elevator out of service. The one that was in service was unnervingly noisy.||Upon arrival at our rooms, I discovered that my room had ripped carpeting that was taped to the tile floor with duct tape. One of the room outlets had no plate over it and the wall was crumbling around it. The bathroom shelving had brown paint flaking off it in large sections, and pubic hair was found in the bathtub. ||My other guests were situated across the hall and entered their room to an overwhelming smell of pet urine and chlorine bleach. One of the end table lights was inoperative and upon further investigation, was discovered plugged into an inoperative outlet without an outlet cover and a crumbling wall. ||The only operational outlet was behind the tv and, upon moving the furniture to access the outlet, trash was discovered on the floor, along with another outlet plate missing from the wall. (Absolute safety hazards, especially to someone with children). ||The mattress was stained with either blood or Cheetos, and the bathroom floor was filthy.||In all honesty, if this were my first experience with a Wyndham property, I would never stay at a Wyndham hotel again.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean but little run down and in need of some TLC. Halls and elevator could have stood some cleaning. Breakfast was ok the breakfast area was clean and I really liked that they had dispensers for the silverware rather than a cup. There were a couple of working girls hanging around the property but they weren't just letting everything hang out. In other words if you didnt know you wouldn't know. It's not a nice hotel but for the price and the fact the room was clean it fit the bill for a one nigh stay.
Do NOT stay at this hotel. After they tried charging us $50 for early check-in, we got our rooms later that night. After navigating the gauntlet of weed smoke from the questionable characters outside, we boarded the one working elevator to go to our rooms. A few disconcerting clanks and jolts later, we arrived at the 4th floor.
One room had what appears to be speed tape holding the carpet down. (Photo 1). The second room smelled strongly of dog urine and chlorine. One of the end table lights didn't work. Tracing the cord found the spectacular fire hazard in photo 2. Behind the TV, where the remaining working outlet was, we found some trash and another plate missing from the wall.
In addition, the bathroom floor hadn't been cleaned since the Nixon administration, and the person who does breakfast "just didn't show up" that morning.
The only redeeming quality was that the staff was very pleasant. Unfortunately there was nothing they could do about the abysmal state of the property.
Regardless of how good a deal you can get on a room here, don't do it. It's not worth the discount!
The front desk was busy when i arrived, so the General manager came out to help me check in and Sharlene was absolutely a gift to deal with. She helped get me the appropriate room and sent me on my way. ||The hotel as a whole is a bit worn, but was a great value. I would strongly consider coming back here the next time I am in North Charleston. ||I know most hotels have done away with shower amenities, but offering only soap bars and lotion seemed insufficient. ||Also please be aware of the Incodentals hold they require when you check in. For those unfamiliar, they hold $100 or more on your credit card, and it will be released soon, once your stay is complete. This is a normal policy that many travelers i have witnessed have trouble with. ||I did enjoy the free breakfast during my time there, but some small items would tend to be out of stock.
I just needed a little reset and decided on this hotel. All of the staff is incredibly friendly, very accommodating, and wonderfully polite.||The room was spacious, comfortable, and has very nice aesthetics. The breakfast was pork free (very important for me) and well-maintained at all times.||I would definitely recommend this hotel for what it offers as well as its proximity to local amenities and attractions as well.
The room was very cute. The bed was super comfortable with the right amount of fluffy pillows. The bathroom had plenty of towels and they were like brand new and big just how I like. The overall stay was wonderful, from checking in to checking out was a breeze.
Had a late night check in, the ladies who checked us in were so wonderful and sweet!! Made my dad and I feel very welcomed and had some good laughs. Loved all the cute holiday decorations.
Beds were nice and comfortable after a long day of flying.
