Best WLM Reviews
Rooms were dirty. TV”s didn't work and no one updated us prior to our stay. Water pressure in bathroom sink was so hard it would get everything wet. Air never shut off was always running and very loud. At check out we couldn’t wait in the line since there were so many people with problems. Should of been offered money back with all the issues I would never stay again
The first issue for us was seeing the Don't Tread on Me Flag (yellow with serpent) outside the building on the tall flagpole next to the OH State flag and American flag, as seen in the picture for the hotel. This is completely inappropriate.||||This hotel is completely neglected with minimum staff. The carpets in the elevator and in our room were filthy dirty. The light above the vanity did not work. The vanity and tub did not drain efficiently. The TV in the suite area did not work, and the kitchen sink was leaking water. In addition, the ice machine on our floor was out of service, and we had to go to another floor to get ice. The pool is also out of service, and has been for months. ||||||The weekday breakfast was disgusting. Cereal, and apples only. No fresh brewed coffee were ever available. Coffee from the machine was not drinkable. My husband went next door to McDonalds to get coffee.||||We had to request housekeeping, which was a joke. They brought fresh towels and never made the bed up and day during our stay. ||||We stayed for a wedding at the LaMalfa Party Center attached to the hotel. The only night there were other guests besides us in the hotel was on Saturday, the night of the wedding. Otherwise, we were the only people staying in the hotel the entire time. I felt like I was in the Shining Movie. The only vehicles in the parking lot everyday, were the two worker's vehicles parked in the disabled spots. It's easy to understand why nobody wants to stay at this facility. ||||I tried reaching out to the Wyndham Corporate Care department, expressing my concerns as noted above. They informed me, this hotel is independently owned by a franchise. Obviously, this owner has no interest in maintaining a hotel that meets the standard of excellence expected by visitors and Wyndham..
I don’t travel often but have to say this was the most bizarre experience I’ve had in a hotel. This was a work event and had to stay for a week. I’ll list pros and cons. I’m a big review reader so wanted to just post our experience.
Pros:
1) older gentleman behind the desk was incredibly helpful and pleasant.
2) the location is extremely convenient due to the restaurants in walking distance, and the freeway.
3) the beds/pillows were actually pretty comfortable
4) A/C works well
Cons:
1) the rooms were disgusting
2) we left our “do not disturb” sign off the door so we did get room service. Day 3 we still did not get anything and had to ask the front desk.
3) the pool is advertised in the pictures, but there is none. I’ve seen in other reviews the owner will comment and say its displayed that it’s “under construction” well that just not accurate unfortunately.
4) the breakfast was disturbing to say the least.
5) the safes did not work inside the room
6) we had to have our door key reset literally 8 different times because they wouldn’t work.
7) the bathroom sink is outside of the bathroom. Kinda strange to me but this is just a design flaw and not necessarily a hotel issue.
In conclusion, the hotel is just nasty in regards to cleanliness. Honestly, we started taking bets if they even have room service that actually came into rooms and cleaned. On our 4th day, we actually saw someone with a cleaning cart with towels on it.
I will give credit to the hotel staff as they discounted our rooms drastically due to the tvs not working etc but we were unaware of any of this until check in.
Unfortunately, It’s very noticeable that this hotel likely was a very nice hotel at one point, but it’s fallen off HARD.
This was a visit home. We have stayed at LaMalfa hotel before and was great. This trip we had a bad experience. I was charged 3x on my account and twice the amount of qoute given over the phone.
Food under the bed.
Coffee pot was dirty.
Pool closed.
Cont breakfast had to turn on waffle.machine, ask for utensils, Coffee machine broken.
Elevator out of order.
Snack and drink machine out of order.
Womens shelter staying on 3rd floor.
Weeds all around
I believe we saw 3 othrt people while staying here. Very uneasy and weird stay.
Awful property. Dirty, outdated, no internet, tv, pool not operational. Not enough staff. Long waits at front desk. I was there for a wedding with a room block. Hotel a disappointment but wedding was fabulous. I only have three stars for location it was near a highway and lots of fast food.
This would be a five-star review if two things were different: the breakfast options during the week were less than to be desired. (Sunday breakfast was incredible!) The room we stayed in had the sink directly in front of the beds. This made it challenging to stay asleep if someone needed to use the sink in the middle of the night. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again if passing through Mentor.
Overall guest service was good. Still advertised with a swimming pool they do not have. Also no cable and the internet connection slowish.
We hosted a wedding and pretty much had the entire hotel. Gina made all the guests feel welcome and took care of us the entire weekend. The breakfast was great and while all the rooms are not updated just yet, they were clean. Great location and the patio is a nice bonus. Marty was awesome to work with and made my daughter’s wedding so special. The amount of food they serve and the presentation is amazing. The food is superb. It was a weekend to remember for our family and friends. Thank you.
