Best WLM Reviews

I've been a long-distance trucker for over 33 years. I travel all over our country for 5 weeks up to 3 months at a time. I'm sorry to say this was the worst American Chinese food I have ever had. I bought the Chef's Special Chicken (L26). It was white meat chicken in this salty not fully cooked batter. It was horrible. The rice was practically tasteless. I'm sorry but your establishment needs a new cook.
My second pic is all the not fully cooked batter from the white meat chicken. My first and last time going to Wing Wah.
I'm out of Florida now, but originally from Queens, New York City. I know good American Chinese Food when I taste it.
Get a new good cook.
This restaurant is the best Chinese restaurant in the area. I used to go there before I went to college, and am happy that it's still here today.
They only open for carry out now. It may appear that they are closed from the outside due to no other cars in the parking lot. It works for me because I prefer carry out anyways.
Everything is so expensive nowadays. Their price remained very reasonable
Some recommended dishes are:
Szechuan Chicken, Beef Broccoli, Shrimp fried rice, combination fried rice.
Appetizer:
Fries, Fried Chicken, crab Rangoon,
Combo:
Orange Chicken, Fried rice, egg roll
Ribs, Fried Shrimp, Friday Rice, Egg Roll
Been coming here since I was a kid!
The food tastes exactly the same.
Always great service!
Take out only now.
This is really disappointing to leave this review. Wing Wah use to be the best in the area but not anymore. The orange chicken was so old and dried out we could not even chew it. The rice was good and I did notice that the egg roll was a lot smaller and tasted different . This use to be my favorite spot but not any more.
I asked for egg fried rice which traditional egg fried rice has scallions and big pieces of eggs as it's the eggs that are the main part of the fried rice that's not what I got with nothing else with little specks of egg. I also ordered the Hunan lunch special I took two bites of it period to me the chicken add a funny taste to it. All the vegetables look old and overcooked. I also thought they were very rude in the restaurant or I should say out of the restaurant because they don't allow you inside. You go inside the door and you expect to be finding another door inside but instead it's just a little window. They say what do you want?! You ready? I was giving her my order and she just walked away and went in the kitchen. I don't think Gary has much choice because I think this is the only Chinese restaurant that's open period but it's horrible. I waste a 20 bucks
The food at wing wah to-go is still delicious and full of flavor. We ordered all different types of protein: pork, beef, shrimp, and chicken. They were all tender and well cooked. None of the proteins were dry. The chicken was especially delicious and juicy.
Sad to say but today will be my last day frequenting Wing Wah... The prices have went up and the quality of the food has gone down, you cant even sit inside the restaurant anymore...The portion sizes are smaller and they also failed to provide basic condiments like soy sauce, hot sauce, or duck sauce... they dont even give free fortune cookies with large orders anymore. My family has been faithful customers for well over 40 something years... My mother use to go in and order up to $80 or more of food each visit, sadly now the quality of the food has diminished to subpar standards. I can say at one point Wing Wah use to be the best Chinese food in the city of Gary but not anymore... painfully this is the end of an era.
They don’t have dine in and last time I order to go for some reason they wanted gratuity tip lol, Mongolian beef was cold and I live 5 minutes away, it used to be good place, been going for 20 years, not so much anymore.
