Best WLM Reviews
It's an interesting little spot, but don't be fooled by the location. The place has some character in its decor, a wild range of wing options and sauces and a few sampler options to be able to taste multiple types/flavors of wings. The salad was huge and heaped with grilled chicken and various fresh veggies. Though it was a busy weekday lunch, the server checked on us numerous times, and always with a smile
Great wings and many options. We did 5 for 5. wings are flavorful, crispy and big. Also like the hush puppies and philly tater tots. Our server was excellent- attentive and nice. Hadn't been in over a decade and now I don't know why. It's a bar atmosphere.
My experience here was not the best a bit of a cold established. The waiter that served us was kind of rude, sarcastic, and felt the need to rush us. Looking around I noticed how he served others. This was even for customers that even got there after we did. He seemed nicer and served them quicker. Not sure the reason. This was a very unfortunate visit because it was my mom's birthday and wanted to have a great experience and loved Wing King. The one in Rock Hill is always nice and friendly environment. Did not get that here. Highly disappointed! The bathrooms wasn't all that clean, I was made aware that the floors were slippery. They kept customers on one side of the restaurant. So around 12 noon the place was a little crowded on Saturday when I went, despite the rain. This location is decent as far as physical location. I did like that they have plenty of TVS to view. Simply put it, the food was ok, service horrible, would not recommend.
Very inconsistent place. Overpriced wings and dressing. Will say though the sides are huge portions. We got 20 wings 4 flavors, none of them were that amazing. Couldn't tell you the flavors really because they were so forgettable and similar to each other (do know some type of garlic Parm and honey bbq for at least two of them). We should've only ordered one side of celery and carrots because one set was enough for the both of us. Basket of cheese curds was a huge portion worth the $8. I do not like they overcharge for each ranch and Bleu cheese especially because it wasn't even that good. Server was nice but felt like they were rushing us. Place was pretty clean. Luckily this time the wings were at least a decent size, the flavor just wasn't it for me. I think the worst part is the price for them. I might go back and try some different flavors if I'm nearby but I won't be going out of my way.
My visit was 12/20/24 during lunch. The waiter a gentleman who didn’t disclose his name, took our order. During the ordering process I told him I am a regular customer at the Wing King in Fort Mill. He says you’re at the “OG” location today it will be much better. Based on my experience - the OG location can learn a lot from the Fort Mill location. Service was horrible! I had to ask another waiter for our drinks. Our food was served after other diners who came in after us. The food was warm to cold when it was finally brought over. My son could barely finish his wings because it was too much seasoning. I asked for hot fries, when I really should’ve asked for the entire meal to be redone. But I carried them out to warm up at home. The waiter barely checked on us but I noticed he was consistent with all his other tables. I paid the check and he noticed there was no tip. He came back to the table and asked was I leaving a cash tip. I said no, due to slow and lack of service, cold food& having to ask for my drinks. He begins to debate about the drinks, which was astonishing. My teenage son who was with me laughed because he couldn’t believe the audacity of the waiter. As we’re leaving the waiter tells the staff I complained about the fries. It was more than just the fries. I won’t return to the Charlotte location but will continue to enjoy the Fort Mill Wing King. Do Better WK of Charlotte.
My wife was recommended Wing King Cafe by a coworker, thanks Shawn! We visited on a Friday night and we were not disappointed! The chicken wings skins were crispy and three meat juicy. I had gotten the Pepper Lemon Parmesan and it was great. My only negative about my wings would be that it was a bit saltier than I would have liked but it was still delicious. Something they can improve on would be a variety of beer. I wish they had dark beers to go with the wings.
Regardless, we loved it and we are happy to drive the 30 minute commute to eat here again.
Great food. Flounder platter, shrimp platter taste like you're at the beach eating fresh seafood. Fries are perfect. All food is prepared well. Servings are big. You get your money's worth. Families, groups, take-out, or just having drinks/beer with friends. Nice atmosphere.
They offer quick friendly service, even when they are very busy. They have many varieties of flavors for wings. The onion rings are fantastic. Everything I tried on the menu was fantastic. You can get mason jars of blue cheese dressing to take home really good stuff. The sweet potato fries are awesome. Just visited again. They turned on the World Series for my baseball loving wife. It doesn't get any better than Wing King
