Best WLM Reviews

Had amazing time here! I did the front 9 of the lake course. I brought friends with that has never golfed before, we payed $35 each that includes the golf cart, we also rented golf clubs for additional $25. We had a great laugh as you can buy drinks (alcohol) to drive around with specially if you’re beginner. We were very slow so we did let people play through and everyone was very nice about it. Definitely be going again very soon.
Went to the batting cage with my son and it was a nice experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds I clean and it wasn't overly packed. They provided various bats and helmets to choose from and the prices were not bad at all. There was only one machine (45 mph baseball) that was not operating, but all of the others were available. Nice place to take the kids and have good clean fun. The driving range looked fun as well as the miniature golf but I did not have the opportunity to enjoy those parts of the facility. They also have go karts too!! For the adults,
there was an area that had adult beverages for those that choose to partake while there. I did not get any food so I can't honestly give a review of anything but it was present. Overall, good place.
I’ve only used the batting cages here and they work very well. It’s rare but they have a clear process if something goes wrong and staff are very helpful in replacing coins lost due to malfunctions. Helmets and bats of various sizes are available for free.
This golf course is heading in the right direction and doing amazing things for kids and people of all skill levels trying to get into golf! Highly recommend coming out for their special events like glow golf or adult mini golf or even just a fun day on the range or on either one of their two 9 hole courses. It truly is a great place for just a fun day as Nicole and her team are doing great things!
Reviewing the golf course/driving range quality:
In comparison to other similarly priced options nearby - like Belmont and Providence - it's just not worth it. The tee boxes are in very rough shape, the grass on the range, fairways, and greens are very low quality.
Cons:
- A lot of tee boxes are mostly hard dirt or have puddles in the middle
- fairway grass is often pretty tall. I recently played the par 3 course and literally lost my ball in the fairway because the grass was like 6 inches tall.
- driving range grass is usually very beat up and you're trying to hit off dirt.
- Greens are very slow/sticky and bumpy. I find myself putting far far shorter than usual.
Pros:
- very beginner friendly (which may be why things like the tee boxes are in such bad condition)
- The course and range are fairly unique due to the hills. Definitely has potential.
- They never try to pair you with a group, which I really like
All in all, it's not worth the cost. Belmont's 12 hole course or a providence 9 holes are super close in cost for a waaaay higher quality course. If windy hill can improve their standard quality - mainly grass - they could have a really fun course for a casual player.
We have played the Lake course for many years due to convenient location and affordable pricing. We played the course today...a Friday morning and informed the price for Friday is now considered "weekend ' rate. I always thought Monday-Friday was weekdays.
Also, the grass on the greens was excessively long and you had to crush the ball when putting. Definitely not the acceptable standard you would expect.
Lastly, several of the tee boxes were horrible, some with standing water or little grass to tee off.
Disappointed today.
The batting cage is awesome. There are multiple lanes with different levels of pitch speed. We use them to get ready for baseball season. They have softball lanes also.
The recent up tick in price has my group changing courses. We dealt with not an actual 18 hole course and the not so well kept greens for the fact that it was the cheapest course around. With parts of the course slowly getting worse from puddles of water building up around drains that aren't kept clear to chucks of the green missing. It's led us to other courses. For just $5 more we can go to sycamore where it's a full 18 hole course with well kept greens. In my mind it is either fix the course issues or lower the price back down.
On a side note I love the staff here and the food I just wish management would play a round of golf on their own course and see all the glaring issues.
