Best WLM Reviews
Normally prefer thin crust wood fired pizza, but wanted to try something new. Ordered the Sweet Pete (supposedly the favorite and recommended by the menu and the staff) & the Popeye (vegetarian). These pizzas are very large and very tasty. The crust is crunchy, and these fillings are very deep, indeed. I’ve got food for today and tomorrow with no worries.
Of note, the Sw
eet Pete had an extra generous serving of hot peppers on it. If you don’t like a little heat, you might ask for a bit less on yours.
Great seats outside & the staff was wonderful and attentive and helpful.
Take out. I like Chicago style pizza, this is a little too bready for me. I got the “Meatza”, the sauce they use is tasty if a bit on the sweet side. The sausage is very good. They could thin the crust by about 1/4 inch and replace with more cheese and toppings and it would be an excellent pie. The staff was friendly and the pizza was ready for pickup on time. When ordering online they automatically change a 20% gratuity.
Looking for a lunch stop after a fun day at the zoo we landed at Windy City Pie. We figured any pizza joint with pie in the name had to be good and they did not disappoint! The grandsons 7 and 4) had a basic cheese pizza and were served quickly as they were getting hangry! The adults ordered the kale Caesar salad and the Omnivore specialty pizza. I’m not a kale fan but the salad was delicious. The OMNIVORE pizza is made with
Red Sauce + Mozzarella + Roasted Garlic + Spinach + Baked-In Pepperoni + Charred Onion + House Sausage. The flavors are a delight to your pallet and fed the three of us well. I don’t know the young lady’s name who served us but she made sure we felt special and gave the grandkids some extra attention.
We will be returning I’m sure.
We had a vegetarian pizza called Fennel Destination. Absolutely loved it. We didn't think we could finish it but 3 of us devoured the whole pie. It's not as heavy as it looks. We also got some non alcoholic drinks - ginger beer, root beer, some lemonade. They were great. The service was also excellent. Will definitely visit again and highly recommend it.
The establishment is nice, and the service is good.
The taste alright.
Definitely not a 4+ star pizza.
I ordered the Chicago Deep Dish Meatza.
1st the sauce is decent but sweet.
2nd it should not be called a "Deep Dish". It should be called a "Thick Crust"
It's about 1 inch total thickness. With 3/4 inch of that being dough/ crust, and only 1/4 of topping.
3rd there is More Meat and Cheese on a frozen Digiorno pizza.
That being said it was not a bad pizza if prices correctly, and at its size and price point it is not a $35 pie.
If you like Chicago pizza I suggest the Firehouse from Delfino's Chicago Style Pizza located in University Village. Their pizzas are significantly better all the way around and accurately rated and priced.
Delicious, satisfying, cheesy, and amazing crust. The pie takes 30 minutes, and you can order in advance - you should arrive 10-15min before it comes out of the oven! It was not crowded surprisingly, and staff were super kind.
On Fridays/Saturdays from 12-4pm they sell slices in the style of the original restaurant- Breezy Town Pizza. I will want to try this!
I blame this restaurant for setting my pizza standards too high. I visited Chicago recently, got Lou Malnati's, and was a little disappointed. That being said, I am pretty sure Chicagoans would argue over calling this deep dish (I've heard deep pan?), but I much prefer the caramelized bready crust to the traditional more crackery stuff. Regardless of what it's called, it's really, really good stuff. Supposedly it's most inspired by Pequod's so I'll need to try them out when I return to Chicago. The tavern style thin crust is excellent as well, of course.
Anyway, please come here. And bring a bunch of friends. I feel extraordinarily lucky to live 10 minutes away from this restaurant.
If you are complaining about the gratuity you should probably consider getting over yourself. The pizza is so good here I'd still come if the owner personally came out and spit on my face
Delicious pizza (4 ⭐️). A little too much bread for me, but legit may be the best pizza sauce I’ve ever had. Smooth, slightly sweet, robust ripe tomato flavor. The thin crust was perfect. Drinks were awesome (hot toddy please!). The Chicago pizzas were delicious and worth trying. I’ll order little more cheese/sauce/toppings next time. Texture of the crust was great too. This is a 4.5 star review all things considered.
