I recently stayed at the Wind and Water Hotel and Marina in South Padre Island for eight days and had a very enjoyable experience, primarily thanks to the outstanding hospitality. The day shift manager, in particular, made me feel like the number one customer every single day of my stay. She went above and beyond, answering all my questions about the local area with enthusiasm and knowledge, and I noticed she treated every guest with the same warmth and care. Her friendliness and helpfulness are definitely the highlight of the hotel and the reason I would consider staying here again.
However, I feel the hotel itself could use some renovations. The facilities are in need of an update, which would bring the overall experience to the five-star level. Despite this, the staff's exceptional service, especially from the day manager, truly made my extended stay enjoyable and memorable.
If you’re looking for a place where you’ll be well taken care of, I recommend this hotel, hoping they invest in a few upgrades soon.
Front Desk Associate was very polite and greeted me as I arrived, very smooth and friendly staff. Very attentive and a great vibe overall. I will definitely be back with my wife and daughter. Very happy with our stay, clean pool, clean room and very affordable. Thank you windwater you guys have a great team and continue this awesome service!
I booked/paid three days to stay. I was so tired, I had just gotten out of the shower, when I hear someone knock in my room. I was about to check who it was when the cleaning lady came in the room and saw me naked. This is an invasion of privacy she didn’t even wait a minute, for me to get the door. Horrible service and worst experience ever. When I went to the office to complain about what just had happened they completely ignored me and said I needed to pay an extra day even though it was barely the second day of my stay.
The only thing that is good is the location & the price. But now, I know I will never stay here again or recommend this place to anyone. It's an old & dirty place -- very ghetto. The sheets didn't look clean, the room didn't feel clean, they had towels but no wash cloths. Their in room hair dryer almost killed me - I plugged it in & turned it on & it started vibrating and making a horrible noise & sparks started to fly. I had to rush to turn it back off & unplug it because I feared electrocution or fire hazard. The community ice maker was broken. This is just a dirty flea- bag hotel pretty much like a Motel 6. Also I checked out a day early because I got a bad sun burn at the beach the day before & I just wanted to go home ( I didn't want to be out in the sun anymore). They refused to give me my refund for the last night. Figures - this place is bad news!
I was charged $10 extra dollars per night that I stayed. $20 total I wasn’t aware about this until I showed up. I mean, if I would have known I could paid the same amount in a hotel that served breakfast. We also had asked for extra pillows and we never received them.
We really had a great experience staff and Ruvina Manager of hotel wore very attentive and friendly. They made us feel welcome it was one of our best stays at the island. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you.
Loved it there we stay there once in a while when we go to the beach only thing we forgot some brand new shoes ???? I had just bought ????????♀️ so I called them the next day and they said no one turned in anything when I know I left them in room 224 but other than that the rooms are awesome.. some one has brand new shoes
I rented a room here because I could get a room right on the canal on the Laguna Madre side of the island from which I could paddle board without having to deflate my inflatable paddle board every time I wanted to go out over the course of a couple of days I was there. My room was conveniently located on the first floor and I had about a 20 ft walk to the canal where I could put in my board. Now the not so good news... twice I had to ask people outside my room to take their noisy party elsewhere... first they were right outside my room about 5 ft from my patio and then when I asked the group to go somewhere else, as luck would have it, they were in the room one floor above me and one room over, so they took their party to their balcony... at 4:30 in the morning, I finally got to sleep. There is no management on staff overnight. Guest! beware! I had no one in my corner to help get this group to be quiet. You get what you pay for if there was a hotel as nice as Margaritaville on the Laguna side I would have rented there!
Lastly, I came home to discover 23 bed bug bites all over my torso. Gross. Now I'm just praying none hitchhiked in my luggage, or my problems will be much worse.
