Best WLM Reviews
Let me start by saying that the staff are lovely and very helpful to all travelers. This is a quaint boutique hotel, in a historic building and is in a safe neighborhood. The building is lovely, but the paint in the room is peeling and furniture needs to be updated. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, since it is firmer that I am used to, but I did sleep well, and the AC was able to keep the heat at bay. It was a challenge to not have a private refrigerator, as I have dietary restrictions that require me to travel with my own food. There is a community refrigerator available, but management of it is on the honor system. It does not have ramps or elevators, so heavy luggage is a challenge, but the staff is very friendly and willing to help carry luggage up/down the stairs. I advise travelers to keep the need to climb up or down a floor in mind as the reservation websites may not make this as obvious. I would also like to make sure that travelers are aware that the closest parking is .5 miles away at a garage on 16th and P, so make plans accordingly. If you are looking for a stay in this type of environment it would be a great affordable place, however, business travelers may experience more challenges than the price is worth.
Affordable hotel that had everything we needed. I enjoyed the style of the hotel. The staff helped us, but seemed to want conversation to stay very casual and as short as possible if that makes sense. Keep in mind this hotel is NOT ACCESSIBLE for physical disabilities. There are no elevators and there are many steps just to get inside. As well as narrow passages and doorways.
Scary! The front desk guys were okay but the room was run down and insanely small. I could hear every conversation outside my room and the floor would vibrate with every door slam (from the sketchy random gated stairs right next to my door). I don't recommend this place as a solo female traveler. I did not feel safe or peaceful here.
I feel like a lot of people unfairly review this place, it is what it is, an inexpensive, centralised hotel. Beds were clean and comfortable. The only thing I think they should improve is the water pressure in the shower. Apart from that, who cares what the furniture and decor is like when you spend the majority of the day out? All you need is some AC, a clean room and a nice bed which is exactly what it offers.
Great staff, clean room, quiet and pleasant neighborhood, comfortable beds and sheets, and a good size for 2 or 3 people. On the bad side, only a bit old-looking furniture and no minibar.
This is a no frills hotel with a lot of heart. It is very clean, the staff are friendly, and it is walkable to many popular attractions and neighbourhoods. They still use metal keys for the room doors, and there is no elevator. There is no coffee maker in the room, but they have complimentary coffee/tea in the lobby 24/7. The decor is dated, and there are many signs of wear and tear, but you can tell they are doing the best with what they have to make it a pleasant place to stay. I would stay here again.
What horrible management. Simply horrid.
My elderly friend went to the hospital with an emergency. She cannot travel. Her trip to DC thus cancelled. Windsor Inn refused any kind of refund. The manager harassed my friend for even asking. They can and will resell the room. Probably the manager will pocket the proceeds from the room being sold twice and thus rip off the owners. Stay elsewhere.
I truly regret choosing your hotel for 12 nights. I'm here for business and all I get at the reception is very uncomfortable experience. At the beginning, the receptionist told me he can provide an early check in with an extra fee, which I accepted. But later he told me it won't be a good room. So when I suggested that I can check in early in the bad room but then move me to another better one since I'm staying for too long, he told me no and that I cannot even get the bad room. This is very disappointing and I will make sure to share this very sad and rude experience. And of course there is a hidden reason behind his attitude.
Afterwards, I went to him trying just to convince him to get me any available room. And then in any other day I can change the room which he totally rejected. I'm disappointed of the zero flexibility. It might not be his fault but the hotel system is very disappointing.
