I went to the ER today with severe abdominal pain, each moment was top notch care. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who helped me into a wheelchair the nurse who did my intake was super nice. I was assessed by Dr. Orlando, from assessment to diagnosis he treated me with respect, kindness, and reassurance that I was going to be okay. My nurse, Heather and her student Taylor, were calming and caring. I felt comforted and incredibly cared for. The technician who did my EKG was also compassionate, Bianca was my CAT scan technician she was super kind and caring. My last interaction with my nurses was thorough and I left feeling as if I was on a great and very well advised healing journey. As I was leaving, the night receptionist told us to have a wonderful night. Thank you Windham hospital for the excellent care today, I now feel relieved and hopeful to feel better from this pain.
It takes some time to be seen when you visit the emergency room. But once they get you in the take care of you. If you need additional services after your visit, they help with referrals. Also if you have just a regular doctors appointment MRI,STRESS TEST, HEART IMAGING, RADIOLOGY ETC. They get you in right in on time. Windham Hospital has some great nurses, staff, and doctors. Thank you for all you do!!!
I came in for suicidal ideation / suicide attempt. When I finally got seen, I got asked “So you tried to kill yourself?” To which I said yes, and the doctor’s immediate response was a bland and annoyed “Was it for attention?”. It goes without saying that this response is abysmal. I know many many many other people who have unfortunately gone here for mental health and every single one was treated poorly. I don’t know what would cause them to open up to a suicidal patient with that accusation, but my complaints with this hospital aren’t unique. I was eventually sent home, but not without further rude, completely dismissive, and offensive care. Even after sharing a shocked “no” to his accusation, they continued to meet me with the same annoyed and dismissive attitude. In situations like this, the suicidal person’s life is on the line, which evidently isn’t a priority of their’s. Many people working there, including the sad excuse of a doctor I saw, should leave the mental health field immediately. They are only doing harm, and I imagine those who somehow gave them degrees would be ashamed. I was obviously not having my health or life taken seriously at this hospital. Do not go here, or if you get sent here for mental health issues, please request to be relocated to a different hospital. Your life is valuable.
I think Hartford Healthcare has to do better with their hiring process, Life is short. Life is precious, the fact that people come to this location in hopes of getting Proper healthcare treatment and then when they get here, the Staff are not professional, conducting themselves as Healthcare employees is Disappointing and disgusting. Recently a young man was being treated for stomach pains in the ER, he was in pain, the staff members that were present at that time were too busy speaking about their personal lives and issues, his occupant could hear them talking about nail appointments, going out to gatherings etc. let’s just say that it got that bad that his occupant kept buzzing for them (Nurses) to come and see about him, not everyone is seeking drugs to get high.. this young man had to be transferred to another hospital ( after reviewing his xray etc) because he had a SERIOUS Condition going on from him complaining of his discomfort. I am Thankful that his occupant that was present with him.. kept buzzing the staff, interrupting their conversations and basically reminding them that You people are their to WORK, and assist Patients with safe guarding them with their health, How Crazy is it for someone to visit this location with complaints of f severe pain and to be over hearing the nurses talking about personal agendas. Wild! I hope Upper Management is aware of the NONSENSE that occurs and corrects these type of issues with their employees because this could have been a very different ending for this young person and trust me you all would have had a LAWSUIT filed against you. The only reason I believe he is still here is because God #1 and then as stated his occupant was not letting up on him and did what needed to be done and that was basically interrupting these so called workers of engaging in personal talks rather than helping to safe guard patient health. Shame of U staff that thought what you were doing was ok and hopefully they are addressed. This incident was Sunday late night. It really shouldn’t matter what time you are there but apparently Night shift in the ER is Dangerous! When you have Nurses demonstrating poor behavior like this. Hopefully one of their Loved Ones doesn’t experience this lack of treatment. Unacceptable behavior Nurses!
Windham hospital The hospital is no longer what it used to be. They leave the patient in pain with better painkillers. They don't want to administer them so that the patient gets better. I feel that they are not interested in the patient's pain and one ends up returning for the same thing or going to another hospital.
Worst ER. This place is a joke. Wait time is absolutely ridiculous with NO ONE WAITING. The waiting area is dirty and disgusting. Have rent-a-cops walking around looking like they're doing something but they couldn't stop a fire in the rain. Do yourself a favor and go to ANY other hospital than this one. Have lived in this area my entire life and EVERYONE I have ever spoke to about this hospital says the same.
From the moment I walked in the door to the time I took my own IV out. The most god awful service. Would not recommend or send my worst enemy to this facility.
They are quick to get your insurance information but treatment always takes a while. Discharge takes even longer.
