Waited for a few months for an appointment. Got confirmation in the mail. Went in today, they claimed they had sent a cancellation in the mail. Never received it. Had to take a day off work for this appointment and now have to wait another three months to see them. I had attempted to contact them early in the week to make sure I had an appointment, never received call backs. I understand a doctor having a family emergency, I just want more clear communication.
Dr Henry is absolutely WONDERFUL! The rest of this office is beyond GARBAGE and has been for several years. The ONLY reason I continue with them is b/c of Dr Henry. If he leaves or retires, I will never return. I will not have appointments w/ his PA’s ( no matter how long I have to wait) & suggest you do so at your own risk. Staff, billing & management are all incompetent and rude when their mistakes are pointed out.
I had to take my sister to a neurologist here due to a brain injury. I have my own health issues, so it’s tough to always keep appointments straight. This place not only doesn’t post info to her MyChart, but they refuse to answer the phone or return phone calls. I’ve now left four voice mails that have not been returned. It’s a supply/demand issue with neuro right now. They are in high demand so they can treat their patients like #%^*. Disgusting.
Why have a telephone prompt that asks if you have a same day appointment but then it transfers to a voicemail that literally says we will return it in 2 business days... this office should be shut down. I'm not even a serious patient but it makes me feel for all those who are who need to call in for things that need to speak with a human. Unacceptable.
I have left 4 messages to make an appointment. No one calls back. Not sure why we can't talk to a live person. Very disrespectful towards your patients. I now know why it only has 2.8 stars.
I have been a patient at Neurological consultants in Winchester Va. for almost a year. I seeked their services because I was told by an ER physician that I suffered from seizures due to epilepsy, and needed proper medication and proper neurological care. I also suffer from chronic insomnia. I met with Dr. Fox a PA there and after discussing my issues it was concluded that I did not have epilepsy but do suffer from severe PTSD which at times gets a hold of me and causes me to have a short circuit episode. I've been treated with medicine to help me sleep at night and I feel fantastic! I am able to concentrate, comprehend matters that would once overwhelm me because of the lack of sleep. My memory has improved substantially! I even look better. Dr. Fox takes very good care of me, I never have to call for a refill, as he takes care of this matter promptly. I no longer have fear of seizures as they didn't exist in the first place, but just thinking I did would frighten me and so I have learned to manage myself in stressful situations. Thank you Dr. Fox and the very professional team at Winchester Neurological in Winchester Va. 540 667-1828. God bless.
Their reputation is correct and now I understand why my doctor’s referrals normally go to a different practice. I saw Dr Lyon a few years back and really liked him so wanted to stick with his practice. This experience was horrible and I will be taking my doctor’s recommendation (that I should have taken to begin with). They’ve called to reschedule my appointment twice. The first time was the day of the appointment and the second time the day before. After being called to reschedule my appointment this most recent time, I couldn’t make the reschedule date because I was traveling and had work conflicts. The next available appointment was in 3 months and I just couldn’t wait that long (no one goes to a neurologist because they are healthy)so I moved my schedule around (not an easy task) and booked the appointment. The morning of the appointment I started completing my paperwork online and the website glitched and wouldn’t let me continue. I don’t have a printer so figured I could complete at the office. Unfortunately due to circumstances out of my control I was 3 min late for my 10:00 appointment. After waiting in line for 2 min, the receptionist told me that I needed to have all paperwork finished and checked in by 10:10 or they would need to reschedule. Fine, I can fill out forms in less than 2 min, my information isn’t difficult to put on paper. She proceeds to go to the back and ask someone how to handle this and then tells me that the NP, Robert Fox, I was seeing would still have to agree to see me. After he was told he already canceled my appointment twice, (he was the specific reason both times my appointment was canceled), he said he wouldn’t see me. I fully acknowledge that I was 3 minutes late, however, there are a few issues with this. First, this practice has a reputation for canceling the day of or day before for appointments then being unable to reschedule for months. Second, knowing that I was one of those cases, Fox didn’t make an exception of just a few minutes leeway. Third, if the receptionist had just let me start the process it would have been done by their 10 min requirement. They chose to not let me at least ATTEMPT to make it happen. Fourth, I guarantee in the waiting room filled will patients that I wasn’t going to be escorted immediately into Fox’s office to be seen. An additional 2 min to check me in was not going to hinder any appointments behind me because there is no chance I was going to see him the moment the receptionist had my name checked in. I don’t leave many reviews, bad or good, because I believe the problem should be brought to the company directly. I brought my issues directly to them and received just stares back. This is a doctor warning: don’t wait months for an appointment with them unless you absolutely have to because they are your only insurance choice. Call around and find someone else. There are other doctors in the area. Don’t get stuck with subpar attention. You go to a neurologist for real problems. Don’t let their constant rescheduling keep you from getting the care you deserve. They are so booked out because they cancel all the time. If they kept appointments as they are, they’d actually be able to see patients.
Dr. Ziayee was quick to push my mother (patient) and sister (care taker) out of the office. He came into the room and first addressed the patient by the wrong name multiple times. Originally didn't plan to exam the patient (this was a first appointment) and did not even want to listen to or ask what their concerns were. Instead, he wanted to say he already knew what their "burning questions were." We waited for this appointment for 3.5 months and it had been cancelled by his office 3 times due to him "being out of the office."
