Stayed here August 14th 2024; I must say for a motel ( Not Hotel) it was such a very pleasant experience. The room was exceptionally clean and inviting as well as the ground's all the staff were helpful and curtious when asking about thing's to do and places of interest to check out from the moment I made my reservation until the time I checked out. Muffins,Rolls a Danish and a hot fresh cup of coffee to start the morning off right who could ask for anything more? Thank you Winchester Bay inn and thank you to your staff of professional personal for the great experience hope to visit again soon.
The Winchester bay inn will nickel and dime you to death. There were fees for everything. They also advertised free breakfast, but supposedly during any time but summer they don’t serve it because it’s too slow. Asked for a partial refund because we booked here specifically for that, but was refused. Beds are awful and springy, the thermostat was either too hot or too cold, no in between. Overall, poor experience, will not come here again.
Edit: Since the owner wants to be combative. We did try to come in earlier for breakfast and the lobby wasn’t open. The staff were sweet have nothing awful to say about them, but looking at other poor reviews the owner just likes to argue.
Room was clean smelled fresh & clean. Room was all hard surfaces, heat worked well no A/C
Breakfast: Could use a little work. I would use a local restaurant to avoid disappointment.
Ice: ice is gold here no ice machine. Front counter will give you a few cups of ice didn't seem overly friendly about it. I assume this is caused by over use of ice machines used to fill multiple large ice chest.
Overall I'd stay again and would recommend for a clean budget friendly no frills stay near the harbor.

I had a lovely stay, spontaneously booked a night while on a road trip. My room was clean and tidy. I slept so well!
Breakfast in the AM is served 8-9AM.
Room was very small....beds hard as A rock .smelled like dog piss. The WI fi would not work when I called the front desk about the WI fi I was told to take laptop outside and walk around the parking lot until I could find a hot spot. It was rainy out and they advertised free wi Fi service. Then I was told it is not guaranteed. I ask for a refund and left. I was told no refund.
The rooms were extremely clean, had all amenities needed, kitchens were well equipped, beds were made very nicely, actually looked inviting and were very comfortable. The front desk girl was very polite and business like, answered all my questions to the best of her knowledge, and was very nice. I would definitely stay here again and most definitely refer friends and family to stay at this very nice and peaceful motel.
When my husband and I arrived, soaking wet from a rain storm, the nice lady was having problems with the credit card machine. She graciously gave my husband the key so he could start unloading. Her boss came down to help her and started chastising and belittling her in front of me. It was embarrassing for myself and her.
The room was cold and did not have weather stripping or a door sweep on the door. We were freezing all night even with two extra blankets.
It was advertised as having free continental breakfast. There was none and we were not informed of this. We paid $136. for what I consider a $75. room. Fool me once…
Small but clean room. Pleasant. Microwave and fridge. There is so much potential for this place! It's very cute and would be awesome with the right decor and maybe themes! I'd go back.
