Best WLM Reviews
The staff are incredibly kind. The store has so many environmentally conscious products and it's the perfect size. I am only shopping for one person so it's affordable to a degree and portioning is fantastic :)
Decent for a co op, compared to the four or five dozen I’ve seen across the country for work.
Terribly unhealthy hot food bar (basically an Olive Garden pasta bar on Wednesdays), and lots of grab and go products are neither organic nor are made without inflammatory seed oils. Lots of fake health stores out there. These guys have to be careful not to keep falling into that trap.
Love love this place! I don’t have any ownership here, but after this trip, I will be getting one. The sales are great. I believe products are cheaper here than Whole Foods. I love their Hot Bar. Yesterday I got a delicious dish and went back to get more, it was out for the day and someone told me that recipes are on line. I was pretty excited. I did however get addicted to a honey bar even though I hate honey! That is why I was there 2 days in a row. Honey Mamas should be your new favorite bar too! Oh, and I seem to be addicted to their vegan pumpkin bread. Dense, full of flavor, just like your Grammas pumpkin bread is there all year round!
Staff are nice and place is very clean. Nice to see staff just straightening out products on the shelves.
Wonderful co-op with a very wide selection of local & organic products across all departments. The manager (Rodney) was on the floor interacting with shoppers. He saw a line at the seafood counter and jumped in right away to help. It's great that Willy Street buys from many local organic farms and producers. I especially enjoy ORIGN Breads, Meadowlark Organics flours, and local organic fruits!
Very nice grocery store that focuses on local brands, regional food, organics and some bulk options for ingredients. Good wheelchair access and large aisles. Bathrooms are located immediately to the right at the far end after entering the store. Can be difficult to get parking in the parking lot, highly recommended you find parking in the residential blocks behind the store.
(Don't tell anyone, but I think this place secretly hosts a branch of the Galactic Empire.)
Service dog friendly. Although, unfortunately I did see someone with a dog that was not behaving appropriately for a service dog, but not enough to make a ruckus. It tried to come up to my service dog in training. My SDiT ignored the dog, like service dogs are trained to do... But if that dog would have been aggressive, with how the owner payed no attention to her dog, things could have been much worse... Not the store's fault. I just worry...
LOVE this store. The concept is inspiring. The items are quality and varied. The store itself is beautiful, especially the murals on the outside walls, and the landscaping of the "backyard". Prices are higher for non-members, but membership is inexpensive and definitely worth it, even if you only shop here a few times a year.
Note: I always meet the most interesting and lovely people here. Very friendly folks.
Being honest this store is fairly good for natural/organic product selections of any kind. A bit on the expensive side considering you can get nearly anything it offers online at a significantly cheaper price, but it is a local co-op and I agree that it is usually good to promote local businesses.
The problem is, buying local and in smaller shops/grocery stores is great and much worth the extra price because most of the time the people working there are great at customer service, being friendly and welcoming, etc.
I am not sure what exactly it is, but I have lived off Jenifer street for a few months now and have come here literally every day and do my regular grocery shopping here specifically, albeit the higher prices. I have NEVER had a good customer service experience. Everyone here talks down to me every visit like they are entitled to something I can't have. Everyone has talked to me in a way that is arrogant and condescending, and when I make small talk at the register they are usually silent and just blankly stare at me. I am a member, and have been part of this "community" of people for the past 12 years, even working at an organic co-op grocery store and farm for 6 years before moving to Madison.
I don't understand the problem but I am done with the staff here. It's a shame because I really want to support the local community but this is ridiculous.
Vast arrary of products, this store is filled from top to bottom. Every aisle is carefully planned to utilize optimal shelf space.
You need not be a member to shop here, and the staff is very helpful and friendly.
The outdoor seating area is relaxing and quaint. I loved their outdoor wood barrel floral plantings!
