Best WLM Reviews
Amazing portions great food and a creepy Halloween atmosphere...This is a must go to if you are in Mason...ADA wheelchair accessible. Staff is so friendly they seem more like your own family. The chicken tenders were so large and moist and perfectly fried... the tacos used real nice lettuces vs cheap iceburg lettuce. It's all those fine little things that makes this place a must go. Take a look at all the pies and cakes that are baked there...I ended up buying the House Rojas sauce that they bottled. There is a bench in front for furry families members. ❤️ ❤️ photos included.
Great food! Big portions too. The hamburger steak was so delicious. My husband had the fried steak fingers and the portions were huge! Salad bar had 2 kinds of lettuce and the typical fixings. Sweet potato fries were super crispy. I subbed the cream gravy for brown and just about licked the bowl it was so good. Everyone at our table loved the yeast rolls... Maybe even worth buying to take home! Couldn't leave without trying the pecan pie, it lived up to its reputation. Will be back!
Very nice place with small town charm. Breakfast was very clean and well done. Nice and airy with lots of windows and light. Was pleasantly surprised.
Spent about 3 hours there, since my kid was taking an exam at Mason High School. Hosts were very kind and amazing and brought in endless amounts of coffee.
Ordered the omelette, home fries and home made toast w Coffee. All were very good. Definitely recommend.
Imagine my surprise when I got my bill for 2 burgers and 1 sandwich and it was $72.39. Five dollars to substitute fries for chips is outrageous and I feel we should have been made aware of this when we ordered. I understand the need to upcharge for certain items but I can buy a whole bag of potatoes for half that and what we got we’re not fresh cut potatoes. Sysco frozen at best. You’ve lost a loyal customer. I’ll take my hard earned money elsewhere.
This place is an absolute MUST STOP!! We were headed home from San Antonio and needed some grub so a quick Google search brought this stop up as the top of the list. After arriving we quickly realized why; the atmosphere is incredible, the staff is super friendly and the food is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! We were a bit nervous about pricing but you TRULY get what you pay for. The drinks they offer were TEXAS SIZED. This will definitely be a top of the list kind of spot! We’re already talking about making the 2.5 hour drive from our hometown to eat here again!!
Love the quaint small towns
This café is a place to visit the past where life was more simple and relaxed. Stop in and sit a spell. Good food, good everything.
My husband got the $30 ribeye steak and asked for it to be cooked medium rare. He received a thin, well-done steak. It was just a poor quality piece of meat; even if it had been cooked right, it still wouldn't have been good. We let our server know, and he acknowledged that the steaks there are not great and said the chef that knows how to cook steak wasn't there tonight. He apologized but didn't offer to remove the meal from our bill or do anything to make it right.
The salad bar was weird. I've never seen such an odd offering of toppings. There was no cheese, no olives, no cucumbers, no onions... instead, there were jalapeños, pickled okra, and some other strange things that I would never put on a salad.
The only reason this review is 2 stars instead of 1 is because my hamburger steak and grilled veggies were very good! I also ordered chicken nuggets for my toddler, and his food came out fast, which I always appreciate.
We will try this place again but definitely will not be getting the steak. We're hoping the second visit will redeem this first one. I'll update my review when we come back through Mason again.
What a horrible experience
Service here has never been over and beyond although there was a girl working with colored hair that’s friendly but unfortunately we didn’t have her, we had Stephanie.
From the get go Stephanie didn’t want to wait on us. My 8 year old was given a regular menu and I had to as for a kids, she was annoyed. I asked for colors but they were out so I asked for a pen and i got. “we will see” and at that point I saw my uncle had one in his shirt pocket so luckily she didn’t have to put in effort
We ordered and I noted to my family just how unfriendly this waitress is. I’m very nice. I waited tables for 15 years, I get being busy or having a bad day but one table over, I can see she’s smiling at them.
Everyone’s food comes but mine but no mention from her if it will be right out or why it’s not there. Then 5-10 minutes later after my child is done, mine comes but with no gravy. We are told they have to make it so I just sit there with a dry chicken fried steak strips waiting . Ten minutes later gravy was set at my elbow without a word. No “ I’m sorry “ or anything. The steak was cold, tasteless and literally inedible, I take a few bites and get a box. One piece had an inch of meat and 7 inches of breading. How is that even possible?
We get our check and I take it to get ice cream. There the lady was at least trying to not be mean. I ask to ring it up separately so I can tip her separately and I left Stephanie 15% which is half what I normally tip.
I’ve been here several times and the food is usually ok but we won’t be back. I’m not going to spend money where people don’t care about our experience. I was sure to let the person getting Ice cream to know how incredibly rude Stephanie was. She said she was surprised to hear that. Good luck Willow Creek, you’re going to need it
