I was involuntarily admitted about a year ago and let me just say the experience was nothing but traumatic. When I arrived I was given no information about anything, they wouldn’t provide me with my correct meds, they wouldn’t even let me take my birth control. They provided me with someone else’s clothes that were 2 sizes too small while I waited for the clothes my mom sent. But they refused to give me my own clothes, I didn’t even have clean underwear. I was wearing the same outfit for 4 days and felt disgusting and humiliated. The staff would get defensive and annoyed everytime I asked for any sort of information. And on top of that I was surrounded by violent patients. It was so bad I begged my mom to come get me. Would absolutely not recommend
I went here for detox from alcohol. For the most part the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. One staff member that sticks out to me is Nurse Erin. Out of my two times being admitted there she made me feel comfortable and is a very compassionate nurse who takes time to answer questions that you may have and is awesome to all the patients there. Sara and Austin who are behavioral technicians stood out to me as they are great at what they do. I highly recommend this place. The food is great and the setting is comfortable. However, I would NOT recommend outpatient therapy here. In outpatient they are very unprofessional. April thinks she owns the place, and the others are control freaks. I did the assessment and was approved. However, April made up a lot of stuff as well fabricated things to get me removed my very first day because she's very homophobic and I'm shocked they allow her to work there. It says alot about the outpatient part. Inpatient is wonderful. Only giving 2 stars because of the outpatient therapy services I received from April just because I'm gay!
I ended up at Willow Creek involuntarily, but it was the best blessing I didn’t know I needed. I spent a week there receiving care for depression, anxiety and sucicide attempt. I was so mad I was 3 hours from home knowing there were other facilities closer to home but when I left I couldn’t be more thankful. The staff, therapists and focus on long hours of group therapy was beyond amazing. I was blessed that the group of individuals there as patients at the same time were so dedicated to fixing them selves and encouraging and validating one another as well, I was told that’s not always the case. If you’re ever suffering from mental health struggles or addiction I couldn’t think of a better place to recommend. I will forever be greatful for the care and attention i Relationship received there, God bless them all!
A few of the staff members really shouldn’t work there as they are cold as ice and had little to no compassion. I did have to file a complaint about one but that was handled quickly and with true care and compassion, Jamie is a top of the ladder staff and she listened to my concern with empathy and deeply apologized on behalf of the entire facility, and I can’t let one bad staff ruin my overall care and success. The amenities weren’t great but that’s irrelevant. There are a few too many rules - some quite silly but I understand there are rules for reasons. The food wasn’t great, but I’m used to making meals for myself and family from scratch. As stated, my personal experience there rebuilt my confidence in myself and saved me. It was a combination of some amazing staff, nurses and therapists as well as the great group of individuals there at the right time dedicated to fixing themself as well as being great friends and supporting one another. Thank you Willow Creek & patients I got to meet!
If you're a smoker you'll love this place, they have an entire courtyard designated mostly to smokers.
My name is James. Jamie or Jam in WCBH. I've been an "in-patient" twice. Words can't describe how grateful I am toward just about every aspect of the program. Specifically the BHAs, therapists and kitchen staff. I've never felt so safe and cared for in my entire life.
I'm still in recovery and struggling with my brain, if I hadn't lied to the doctors and staff throughout my first visit (which lasted for around 20 days) I wouldn't have the small handful of complaints that I do have. Despite the small complaints I had, this has to be one of the best acute care facilities for young and older adults in the entire state.
I loved this place so much I even agreed to a partial hospitalization program which will allow me to have a greater control over the medications/drugs I'm prescribed.
Spent two nights as in-patient for depression and anxiety. Nurses are mostly awesome, although a few are cold as ice. Food isn’t bad if your shift eats early enough to get the best selection. If not, good luck! Sometimes all that’s left is crappy at best. For instance, NEVER choose the scrambled eggs. EVER! Plus, because one patient once was allergic to salt and pepper, they never have either available.
I heard that some wings have been updated and are quite nice; the wing I was in was a dump. Visitors meet you in the cafeteria, and as soon as my hubby saw it, he wanted me out of there. Yes, it looks and feels THAT cold and institutional. It would cost little money and take little effort to improve that space by leaps and bounds. I doubt there are many high schools today that look that depressing. All the walls are very somber shades of brown and beige. So cold, unappealing, and unappetizing. I just don’t know why they don’t put in even the tiniest effort to make the place feel more welcoming.
The beds are TERRIBLE and the pillows are even worse, but you cannot bring a pillow from home. The “blankets” are more like semi-thick sheets (they will give you an extra if you want! *insert eye-roll here *). I have severe osteoarthritis, and while they didn’t want to release me after only two nights, this is why they finally agreed to do so. Their facility really is not equipped to deal on an in-patient basis with people living with severe pain from spinal issues.
Temperatures are an apparent on-going issue as one day it would be too hot (fine for the elderly like me) and the next the air conditioning would be stuck on the coldest setting.
The therapists are fantastic; at least the ones I have met! The one psychiatrist I met, however, was the coldest doctor I think I have ever come across, and as I will be 68 next month that’s saying a lot.
I would say, from what I have read online of the other care facilities in the area, that I would still choose this one. However, there are many things that they could so easily do to improve the atmosphere of the facility that I’m stymied as to why they aren’t doing any of them.
Edited to add: I have now spent a month in their outpatient group therapy program and I love it! The therapists are beyond wonderful, and it is such a welcoming and “safe” space that I miss it terribly on weekends. Adding a star because of the quality of their outpatient care.
I went here because I tried to OD. The staff didn't care about anyones health there. It was snowing out and they only had 5 minutes of heat every hour. Their food was really bad and so was the seating. There was really nothing to do but watch TV. I was suppost to be there to get help but instead I got worse. That place wasn't meant for teens or even adults. If you really want to fix your place get better staff and really think about what teens and adults need to get better.
Did not have a great experience. The food was bad, ended up in the ER because my doctor put me on to many meds, had a bad panic attack and staff didn’t help at all, got discharged without a warning and had a panic attack, didn’t stop me from self harming and the nurses didn't take care of the scars, and so much more. There is a couple good staff members but other than that the staff was not good. I do not recommend willow creek.
My daughter is in there (11yrs old) because of an adverse reaction to a medication. They have made some med changes but can’t seem to figure out dosing for Ritalin for adhd. My child has been on 60mg Ritalin for 2yrs and this place wants to put her on 10mg in the morning and 10mg in the afternoon, I have been strongly advocating for her my child but the nurses MD and pharmacist do not listen! My child has never had a problem with her Ritalin she had the adverse reaction to sertralin. This place really needs to get it together because messing with the meds is very serious! I’m so disgusted by this. Let’s not fail to mention the nurse already gave my child the wrong med resulting in a med error. These people do not realize they are messing with peoples lives
