This was a nice find. We already had eaten a couple of times at Kona brewpub (great place!) this trip so thought we would give Willie’s a try.
We both had the tenders (one with tots and the other with Mac & cheese). They were out quickly and were tasty. We got ‘Nashville hot’ which was flavorful, but we might step up a heat level next time.

Willie's lives up to the hype. My chicken tenders were perfect; moist and tender on the inside, crunchy crust on the outside. I only tried the house sauce; but I will have to go back to try some of the other sauces.
The Frozen Mai Tai was delicious; and packed such a punch! 5 out of five; I will be visiting again.

Bro....you like chicken? Then you will LOVE Willie's Hot Chicken! Let me tell you why!
Whether you are a leg lover, a breast friend, the tender loving kind, the wing man, a salad tosser, or a vegetarian.... Willie's serves up what ever you like, however you like! Thats right! Wings, legs, breasts, chicken tenders and salads all served with whatever level of heat you desire! I strongly recommend the Sweet Hawaiian (not the one taking the order, the sauce). There is even a kids menu for the rugrats!
You can choose to dine in, sit outside, or take your food to go! There is plenty of parking on the street right outside too!
So if you want the Hottest Chicken and the Coldest Beer on the Big Island, head over to Willie's Hot Chicken!
Willies Hot Chicken very well might have been some of the best fried chicken I've had in my life. I got a 3pc wing and it was so juicy and tender. The spices were good and the honey butter was insane!
Lovely vibe. Very casual, hang out kind of place. They have tables outside and there was live music when we ate there which made it even better. The chicken was delicious and tender and the cashier advised us right on the spicy sauces and how to best order to try as many as we could. We ended up ordering 3 different kinds and enjoyed the tasting experience. The mac and cheese was also really good and pairs well with the chicken.
Fair prices and the service was super friendly. Will 10/10 come back and highly recommend eating here.
Also, met a super cute doggo and that obviously gives this place an extra star.
Nashville Hot tenders were good here though not really classic Nashville style. I'd say they were somewhat better than regular tenders.
What sucks here is the music played here can be really load and it's more of a dive bar vibe. It can also be a while to pick up your food. I suggest pick up and eating somewhere else.
A great place to enjoy amazing fried chicken ???? and live music! ????????????. Love the atmosphere especially during dinner. My favourite are the chicken tenders ????????. Also a great way to have fun with friends with their selection of hot sauces ????????????. A must visit on your trip to Kona!
