Best WLM Reviews
Here is the review for Willie Rae's Social House:
"I had a wonderful experience at Willie Rae's Social House for a late lunch. The outdoor seating area was stylish and inviting, creating a cool upscale vibe. The restaurant itself was a bit deceptive from the outside, but I'm glad I didn't detour to the place next door. The staff was incredibly welcoming and professional, and the art decor was lovely. I appreciated the community integration as I could purchase some of the artwork displayed next door.
The menu was diverse and the food was exceptionally well-prepared and served. I was particularly impressed with the quality of service, as they maintained professionalism and attentiveness even though it wasn't a busy time. I would highly recommend Willie Rae's Social House for a delicious and enjoyable dining experience."
To good not to review. Cajun fettuccine was **chefs kiss** sat at the bar, bar tender was kind and attentive, cider was too notch. And just really enjoyed my food and time there would definitely recommend
We came on my birthday for a lite bite and cocktail before dinner. We sat outside on the sidewalk to enjoy the fresh summer air and people watch, a great sport in the square! I got a half dozen raw oysters and a side Caesar salad and my fiancé got a cup of their homemade gumbo and buffalo bites. The oysters were good...although one was super slimly and questionable so I left it. The Caesar salad had more fresh cheese that Id ever seen on a salad before, kudos! The gumbo was good as well. Great option if you're on the square looking for a quick Cajun bite.
Enjoyed Sunday brunch here, and was quickly able to get a table without a reservation or wait. $15 mimosa bottle, $14 special for a dozen grilled garlic butter oysters that were delicious and a great deal. They split them onto two plates with us, which made them easier to eat and share. I got the fried green tomato BLT with extra bacon, and fiancé got the chicken and waffles along with a French toast special. It was all great, no complaints. House hot sauce also very tasty, as was the Bloody Mary.
This is not gumbo. We asked the owner if the kitchen staff was aware that gumbo is a soup and the owner shrugged and replied, “well it’s a stew.” He discounted it $1.30 off, but we weren’t looking for a comp. Just don’t expect an actual gumbo if you order it. The flavor was good, but if they had added about a cup of the actual gumbo to that rice it would’ve been great.
I tried this place on a whim and I am so glad I did. I love the cozy, clean atmosphere. I sat at the bar. The bar tender was attentive without being to pushy and being very friendly as well as helpful with the drinks and food menu. The place has been recently bought out and renovated. The menu also just changed the week I tried this place. There are so many amazing sounding foods on that menu that I didn't know what to pick. I ended up ordering the Fall Sangria and the veggie eggs benedict, then an order of beignet appetizers to go. Everything was wonderful. The prices are reasonable with everyone else these days. This would be a great hang out, date night, brunch, or lunch location. Completely enjoyed my whole experience!
So I've been debating how I wanted to write this review and forgot for a while to post, (busy life), but here's what happened. About a month ago a friend of mine invited me to try this place for brunch and oysters. Service was decent and the food not bad! The oysters were good but here's the issue; I'm eating and oyster and "CRUNCH!" I feel a snap and spit out a Lil tooth and a baby pearl from inside my oyster! I'm in shock and the server is kind of like "oh no"......... of course no one can guess that something like that would have happened, but literally no manager came out, nothing! Like no acknowledgment of the insanity of me chipping a tooth at their establishment! Not only was there no apology I was still charged for the oysters. I work in the industry so I didn't make a big deal, people have even told me to sue. I think what's most concerning was the lack of care just because I didn't make a scene. I'll post a pic of the pearl here. I've had time to think on it and it's just really lame no one even checked on me and it was like "too bad" basically. The eggs Benedict weren't worth the dentist bill I'll be dealing with soon so I won't be back... but it doesn't hurt to have some kind of care for your guests.
Super cool looking spot on the square. Very nice setup on the inside. Our server was extremely nice and courteous. Beer was cold and quite tasty. The wife and daughter both ordered fish and chips and I had the fish tacos. Everything looked amazing. Mine was supposed to have street corn as a side but they were out of that at the time. The fish tacos were not too bad. Not the best but definitely not the worst either. Just ok. The fish and chips looked great but were not very good. The daughter couldn’t finish hers and my wife didn’t care to finish hers as well. So I had to see how bad can it really be. Not sure if it was bad fish or maybe overcooked but I didn’t care for it. Again the service and beer were awesome. Food was average and may of been just a bad day in the kitchen. The place has been there for a long time so I would definitely try it out again.
