THIS PLACE IS DOWN RIGHT AWFUL. first of the food was just nasty , the fried chicken was bland, the macaroni was watery, the corn bread was hard just a big no. next thing on the board it says the fried chicken was $9.99 when I went to pay it was $15 I told him the board says fried chicken is $9.99 and he was like no fried chicken isnt $9.99 and I was like but that’s what it says on the board and he was like no fried chicken is more expensive than life. I’m just like OK. And mr moore was just straight up disrespectful. he had no idea what was going on in his own restaurant. there was 3 people ordering together and i told him that , and right after i said that he asked me so all 5 of yall ordering together. I JUST SAID 3. next thing is my grandmother asked what they had to serve. He told us look on the board so my grandmother asked for some green beans. He said we don’t have green beans my grandmother asked again well then what do y’all have? he said LOOK ON THE BOARD so my grandma asked for spaghetti which because spaghetti was on the board he said no we don’t have any spaghetti. OK well then that’s when she asked for some dressing which was also on the board. He said there was no dressing and we’re like OK so why tell me to look on the board and you dont have anything thats on the board just straight up disrespectful The next thing is they’re cleanliness that place was just straight up filthy the floor hasn’t been cleaned for like 10,000 years. The bathroom was a straight up, nasty, rusty, dusty, and musty. I took a peek in the kitchen and it was just dirty. There was a whole bunch of dirt and trash, and there was water leaking from the ceiling. and the sink was brown and rusty. zero out of 10 would definitely not recommend but if you’re into disrespectful employees, nasty food and a dirty atmosphere. This place is a great place for you.
Hot. Fresh. Homemade. Cool staff. The atmosphere & Styrofoam are only things needing some refining but great taste makes up for it all.
It's an experience!
Food amazing! Sweet tea out of a plastic bucket was good also.
The place needs a bit of TLC though.
I wouldn't want my pet cats to use that toilet!
I frequent this restaurant whenever I come to Memphis even when located on South Third Street. Because my accommadtions are downtown it is conveniently located. However, portion size has gotten ridiculous! See attachment. I paid $25 for this with no sides. I understand post pandemic everything has increased in price; but like this.. at some point it should be classified as robbery. Please beware!
I met some people on Beale St who recommended Willie Moores and I’m not sure why. The breakfast food was decent but wasn’t spectacular. My grits were bland and the eggs were over cooked. The smoked sausage and toast were good. The problem with the restaurant is cleanliness. The floor is sticky and probably haven’t been cleaned in weeks. The the bathroom door doesn’t even close. When I was leaving the bathroom I took a peek into the kitchen and it looked filthy. And the atmosphere is dead.
Service was friendly, but extremely slow. Ordered breakfast and waited over 40 minutes when there was only one other couple ahead of us. I think there was only one cook. It was also a bit pricey for what we got. Food was good, my kids really enjoyed it, but it was nothing to write home about. 2 identical plates of bacon with pancakes, grits, and scrambled eggs and 1 plate of bacon, chicken tenders, eggs and hash browns with 5 drinks…$67 + tip.
Overall this place was great! Family of six, something for everyone. Breakfast platters were delicious and fulfilling. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming:) Nice stop on our way through memphis!! Will visit again if we ever come back to the city.
My son said his wings and fries were the best he ever had!!
God Awful!!! First the Resturant was FILTHY. They need a deep cleanse. The floor hadn’t been swept or mopped in a month. Trays were dirty, trash overflowing and water leaking from the ceiling.
Now the food… I ordered catfish and the fish I got was not catfish it was swai fish. $19.99 for fish and 2 vegetables. I wanted rice with gravy and the lady behind the counter said we don’t have gravy. Me. Moore said this is gravy right here, pointing at some broth on the serving line… the lady said “that’s not gravy, that’s chicken water” ..
The WHOLE experience was AWFUL!! The only good thing I have to say about this place was the store bought lemon cake…
They should really consider closing and retirement!!
