Best WLM Reviews
First time yesterday. Very memorable & enjoyable experience. Great vibe / cool ambience, nice Christmas decor, attentive but not annoying service. Since it was my dinner party’s first time at Wilf’s, we decided to order multiple appetizers and share. They gave us small plates and, as we requested, were able to stage the deliver of dishes into 2 rounds. Really enjoyed my Limoncello Drop drink. The Crab Bisque, Coconut Prawns, & Sautéed Mushrooms were amazing. The Caesar Salad & Steak Bites Sautéed were very good as well. For dessert we had the Banana Foster which was a great ending to our meal. For this you get table side service. Fun to watch the bananas get cooked in brandy. As for the entertainment, thoroughly enjoyed the jazz band. We look forward to coming again. Next time we will reserve for a booth. High recommend y’all give this place a try. ????????????
Hidden gem that we were so happy to find in Portland, right next to the train station. The live jazz was gorgeous, the singer mixing in French was an added delight. The food was absolutely outstanding, highly recommend tableside service items like the Caesar for 2 and Steak Diane. You get yummy food and great conversation with the chef! We sat in the bar and found it to be intimate and fun. Bartender and servers were all wonderful.
A bit of claustrophobic, chairs are for big & tall size people, loud music ????, old era style decor. Above upper class crowd.
Food... tasty... lots of butter ????, splash of honey and lime, mostly meat ???? and sea food options. Good choices for beverages. Not a place for health conscious people, maybe you'll have to do salads.
Pricing... not a budget friendly, good for celebrations, once in a while kind, $50+ pp.
Super friendly service.
This was our second time at Wilf’s for the Thursday night jazz series, and reader this is the very best of old vibes Portland. Phenomenal attentive and friendly service. Food is excellent — crab bisque, steak bites and Wilf’s salad are all winners. Atmosphere is dripping with charm. Do yourself a favor and support a classic restaurant going hard to please.
Literally some of the most disappointing cuisine I have ever had. Compared to many of the restaurants I have had across the country that claim to have luxury and high-quality food, this has to be one of the worst I have had the displeasure of experiencing. The salmon tortellini was literally the 5 cheese tortellini from Costco with skin ON salmon that tasted fishy and was most definitely frozen. The French onion soup was mid-tier at most, and came out cold and I wouldn't doubt it was microwaved. For a high class dining experience perhaps I would have went to the McDonalds across the street for a similar experience. With a glimmer of hope, the jazz music was amazing and entertained us throughout the night. I hope they recognize the need for improvement and create food that justifies the ridiculous price point and quality I would expect from a "fine" dining restaurant in Portland.
It's a very atmospheric place. Live music, great interior, super stylish and comfortable chairs. Good selection of wines, signature cocktails. We took several appetizers, onion soup (excellent, I strongly recommend it) and crabcakes (they weren’t a success, they tasted bland, a little dry, a little pale in appearance). At the end of the evening we ordered desserts, a glass of excellent port and wonderful espresso. The creme brulee is great and the cobbler with a scoop of ice cream is simply divine.
Booked this place because of the live music, Jazz band. So wasn’t expecting too much wrt food. But when we arrived I was very impressed by the period decor, we sat in a booth that was red leather? Tuck & roll upholstery, and a perfect view of the band.
And the food was fantastic. We had fillet of sole & lamp shank and both were very, very good.
And the band & female vocalist were consummate professionals, played a great set.
My husband got the Diane steak and they made vegetarian accommodations for me, a really tasty pasta! Their drinks are to die for- and our waiter, Douglas, was very thoughtful and gave us explanations for every meal! Amazing service because of him and the manager on duty that night! Highly recommend for any couple that enjoys live jazz, being romantic, and living the night up!
