Best WLM Reviews
I was a bit apprehensive after reading recent negative reviews about this hotel, but my stay was more positive than expected. Yes, there are some minor issues, but nothing that ruined the experience for me.
Upon arrival, there was one front desk staff member who helped us check in quickly and efficiently. I did notice a sign instructing guests to call a number if no one was available at the desk, but luckily, we didn’t need to do that. The person assisting us was friendly and knowledgeable, which made the process smooth.
Parking was plentiful, though there was a short walk to the hotel room. As some reviews mentioned, the building does have a slight musty and damp smell, but it wasn’t unbearable, and after a while, you get used to it. The room decor was straight out of the ’80s, which gave it a cozy, retro feel. It may not be for everyone, but I found it charming.
The only downside was the heating system. Despite turning it on, the room stayed at a consistent 72°F, so it was a bit chilly, and I had to wear layers to stay warm at night. Also, as noted, there’s no AC, only heating.
Overall, I would give this hotel 4 out of 5 stars. It’s not perfect, but the positives outweighed the negatives, and I had a comfortable stay.
This is easily the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The hotel itself is not bad and just a quick walk from the slopes! But I’ve had nothing but problems with the staff. When we arrived, we were 10 minutes early (3:50) they told us we can’t check in until 4 o’clock. Then they charged my card for the room twice. I’ve been working with them patiently to get the money refunded and today when I was on the phone with them (10 days after I’ve been already brought this to their attention) the manager hung up on me. Really pathetic service. Very disappointing. Would definitely recommend staying somewhere else
Worst Hotel stay EVER! Currently staying here and I had to move rooms within 15 minutes of being checked in due to the toilet handle essentially falling off and the toilet continuously running despite not being able to flush. My new room wasn't much better since the shower refuses to drain so the tub is just full of gross shower water that won't go down no matter what I do. If you're looking for great customer service or literally ANY customer service, look elsewhere. I've been calling the front desk for the last 20+ minutes and have tried every single extension line but can't get a hold of anyone! Add on the fact that this place isn't very accessible for anyone with mobility issues since the elevators only sometimes go up and you have to hike half a mile uphill to get to your car. Don't believe any of the pretty photos online, this place is falling apart at the seams and no one seems to care. Considering I've stayed at the Viewline (the Wildwood's sister property) I thought the Wildwood would be a safe and budget friendly option, but man was I sooooo wrong. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. If the stain filled furniture or literal cracks in the walls aren't enough to scare you off, the abysmal customer service sure will! Just go somewhere else, this isn't worth the headache.
One Star is too generous. We never got access to our rooms because their key machine broke. We had to find other accommodations, costing us over triple the amount. The manager assured us we’d receive a full refund. It’s been over a month and the hotel is now refusing a refund, any attempt to call their front desk goes unanswered because they don’t have someone stationed there. You’re better off sleeping in your car.
If I could put ZERO stars to rate I definitely would. I am on day 5 of staying in hotel rooms across the state of Colorado. This place was the MOST expensive of the seven. Why? I have no clue. It’s in a pricey area, I get it. If this place was in my hometown, it would have a tough time fetching $50 a night. We paid $285 for a room at this resort. The rooms have no air conditioning, fine. The rooms are also a time warp from the 1970’s. There are no screens on the windows. Our room faces a stairwell. I went to the front desk to see if I could at least get a room facing the mountains to make this night remotely ok. The woman at the front desk told me the “cleaning” staff were done working at 4:30pm. They had no more “clean” rooms. So they just clean the amount they need and then head home ? They leave rooms dirty ? I heard other people that were staying there say they had cockroaches and mice droppings. Ya don’t say ?? Also, when I was at the front desk to try to change my room, there was another customer and he was saying his room wasn’t even cleaned, and the front desk said it was. Honestly, it’s a little ways off the main highway, but the area isn’t bad. It’s actually picturesque, set in the mountains. The shops are nice. There are some nice restaurants. This hotel , is horrible.
The front desk clerk was very nice and upgraded us upon check in. Unfortunately, the suite is absolutely filthy and all furniture is torn. The bed has sticky drops of who knows what, the screen door is torn and lock does not work, there is what seems to be blood on the bathroom doorframe, the heater is torn off the wall and there are just so many stains and tears I cannot believe they rent this room. The building seems to be similar throughout with some rooms having broken windows. I think this used to be nice, perhaps decades ago. It is pitifully in disrepair. We were too tired to drive on so we toughed it out and hope we don’t bring home anything gross. There is also no air conditioning and without a locking screen door, it’s very hot and the Clorox smell is overwhelming.
This place is filthy!!! I have stayed in motels that were better cleaned. There was hair and old food crumbs surrounding the mattress. The mini fridge was dirty, Stains on the seats that looked like they'd never even attempted to clean, stains across the carpets and the headboard. blood on a "clean" towel. I also took apart the pillow covers to check the materials of the pillow as my husband is allergic to duck down, it was stained with both sweat and blood in 3 spots. I went to the front desk and no one was there. Had to wait 20 min for someone to show up. The only thing they offered was to have a cleaner come up which I said yes to and it never happened. I actually checked the place for bed bugs. I had to use my clothes as a towel and as a pillow cover. We ended up sleeping on top of the bed covers. I would NEVER recommend this place and will never come back!
I recently (Sept 24-26, 2024) stayed at Wildwood Lodge in Snowmass, CO. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing due to several maintenance problems. Upon arrival, I discovered that the refrigerator in my room did not work, which was inconvenient as I had perishable items that needed to be kept cold. Additionally, there was no cold water in the bathroom, which made it difficult to take a comfortable shower. ||Perhaps the most frustrating issue was that the toilet would not flush properly throughout my stay. I reported these problems to the front desk; however, they were not resolved during my stay. While the staff was friendly, I expected basic amenities to be in working order, especially given the price of the room. ||I hope the hotel addresses these issues for future guests.
