I purchased the fun pass package and tickets to the in flight movie along with my two bedroom condo. Upon arrival I was given instructions to check in at wilderness on the lake so I did. I was not given anything for any of the fun pass stuff or my tickets for the in flight movie, but was told the wrist bands worked for all the activities. They don't! I was given the run around the whole weekend to gain what I needed for all of these extras. Any time we wanted to go to any of the amenities we had to take a shuttle to the main property as there is nothing at the wilderness on the lake it is all at the main property. The room was amazing I just wish the check in process had gone better it would have saved us time to get everything we needed right away instead of checking in and then having to go to the main desk in hopes that they knew what I should do or where I should go.
The room was great size wise but the layout has a ton of wasted space. The carpet and wallpaper is really old. The indoor water park was under construction and it was not on their website. All of the indoor water parks are weirdly small and placed far apart. The hotel does not even have its own breakfast. The workers were rude as well, the shuttle driver took 15 minutes to stand there and put on a jacket before driving it and the bartenders at the pool we’re disrespectful. Overall the stay was fun but I expected more from the hotel especially considering the price.
Everyone enjoyed the stay. The indoor pool was awesome for the kids and I was impressed with how well the lifeguards handled any issues. Definitely felt safe for our kids to not have to worry about bigger kids jumping or running into them. Biggest suggestion for people staying multiple nights; make breakfast and lunches in your condos. Food prices are wild ($80 for two kids and two adults to eat chicken) for example. Also, bring cash to avoid the tipping guilt you get for everything!
The 2 bed / 2 bath room we had was giant and a great lake view. Would fit 8 people comfortably.
Lastly, staff answering phones for pre-checkin questions were really bad. She wanted to talk over us, put you on hold without letting us know, not listen to our questions, and overall treating us like we were an inconvenience to her day.
We had a great stay , Shuttle busses take you to each location of the resort.
We stayed on the lake
2 bedroom condominium 2 bathrooms jacuzzi double fireplace fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher
I didn't want to leave
Amazing resort ! ???? So many facilities and well maintained. Good service and transportation from building to another through bus, golf cart and pontoon. Rooms in the main hotel building are renovated and big enough for 4 in beds and extra in sofas.
Sofa bed not comfy though.
It was great kids aged 10-15 all enjoyed the slides, parks. Fun pass is a must if your spending a few days there. When your tired of being wet there are many dry activities and we couldn't help but play until we dropped of sheer exhaustion every day. Kids are already begging to go there again. Walking down the main street and looking at the souvenir shops was also fun however you need to be careful as there are some inappropriate items you want to walk with your kids to block their view at times.
This was my first time at the wilderness, we usually stay at the kalahari. We chose to stay at wilderness on the lake and we will never be returning. I expected so much more for the price. First, housekeeping is not very thorough in their cleaning. Upon entering the room our feet stuck to the floor as front entry was like an entire red soda had been dropped on the floor, a sticky spilled mess, that housekeeping managed to overlook? I don’t think the room saw the likes of a mop. The shower edges were caked with black mold and the bathroom floors covered in long strands of dark hair right when we entered the room. It took several calls to guest services to send housekeeping - they sent someone 4 hours later. Though the room is spacious and great layout for a family to stay it had an overall dated, dingy feel. The oven, bathroom sink drain and the jacuzzi tub on the terrace were all broken - so we were surprised at $600 a night, the hotel would be so poorly maintained. Then the resort itself… The price gouging is shocking. $12 for fries and a non-refillable soda, the fries were COLD and stale and had been sitting under a warmer (that was no warmer than the open air) far longer than safely advisable, however, there’s no outside food allowed, so guests are forced to eat this overpriced, terrible quality food with questionable sanitation practices. The water parks are dingy, and though there are a lot of them (4 inside and 4 outside) they are a confusing tangled web to navigate. We preferred the pool at wilderness on the lake, tho small, it was less crowded and the outside pool had a nice view. Unfortunately, the indoor pool had a strictly enforced policy that children under 48” had to wear a life jacket even in the inches deep kiddy area. Most of the staff do not fluently speak English - it appears to be a lot of foreign exchange staff, so constant miscommunication, particularly in the dining areas. I might feel differently if we hadn’t paid ~$600 a night to stay here, but there are plenty of other dingy hotels with water parks in the Dells to stay at for half that. We paid more hoping for a nicer experience and it fell far short of expectations.
Great place to stay with the family. The kids had a blast. The shuttles were fast. Everything was super expensive in the hotel but what resort doesn't overprice their stuff?! It was a great vacation!
