We have come here for years, and it had turned into nothing more than a money grab, and lack of service. We used to automatically have someone come to our room to refresh towels, take out trash, etc daily. Now you have to ask for someone to do this. The new "hot tub" is nothing more than warm water. No jets to sit by. Used to not have a system where drinks at the bar were monitored by electronic pouring. My $11 drink had almost zero alcohol and to get a extra shot, it would be $12! Used to be allowed to take the drink into the hot tub and relax and sip, but now you get the whistle blown by a lifeguard! All this that they're doing to save a penny, isn't helping because they lost my business. I'll take a cruise next vacation! The only reason they get 2 stars is the slides are fun. That's it! Everything is so regulated, you can enjoy just having fun. This might be fine for some, but not me.
The staff is what gets this 5 star - from start to finish they were great! Kari was an absolute pleasure to meet and speak to every day, she was genuinely friendly, helpful and caring! ||Rooms in the main building were well appointed - had everything we needed. The park was wonderful, so much to do! ||BUT THE CABINS! They knocked it out of the park! Quiet, spacious and perfect for the family! Laundry, picnic tables with BBQ, full and stocked kitchen, shuttle service to the main building… it was worth every penny. ||Thank you for a great stay guys - we loved it!
Very fun place! Wish there were more food options - there were only milkshakes and pizza available and the pizza was very bland. Great for younger kids but maybe needs some more intense slides/activities for teens/young adults. The giant funnel slide was fantastic! I did think the frozen yogurt place inside the hotel was super cool, though, but we did not stay overnight, just came for the day, so food was much more limited.
We decided to something different this time around in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area and stayed at Wilderness at the Smokies. Water parks were great, food for the most part was really good. Our only complaint(s) were not enough places to hang towels or wet clothes in the rooms without a balcony and some of the items down in the little store by the desk were way over priced (20oz soda was $4.69). Other than that we pretty much didn't even have to leave the resort. We would definitely stay again and next time bring our own drinks and milk instead of buying them there.
I recently stayed here and I had accidentally left my brand new shoes in a drawer went back after checking out and waited 2+ hours just so they could tell me sorry but nothing was turned in the lost and found so in that case whoever they have as cleaners must have stole the shoes and not turned them in as suppose to resulting in not doing their jobs correct. They made me fill out a lost and found report but didn’t seem to care brushed it off instead of looking into who cleaned the day I checked out and question as to why it wasn’t turned in. So if you plan to stay here make sure you don’t leave any expensive valuables/Items because they most likely won’t care or look into. I think it could have been such a simple situation to look into since it had just been a day from checking out of the room but staff seem not to care since they don’t loose nothing.
My husband and I traveled with two kids under 5 and were very impressed. I am a slight germaphobe, but the rooms and facilities were very clean and maintained. The staff did not technically go out of their way for customer service/hospitality but were friendly and helpful when we needed something. We will be back in a couple years when our kids are even older and even though the food options/prices were not horrible, we will bring a little more small kid-friendly options to have in room. Beware you will be "invited" multiple times to discuss buying into a timeshare.
Loved the room, loved the water park, loved that the resort had so many amenities... However the staff seemed to not be on the same page. When asking employees questions I heard a lot of I don't know or I'm unsure. I think the staff could benefit highly from doing more regular meetings to inform the staff of changes etc.
We have stayed at this resort many times over the years and our children fully enjoy the water park. However, this year instead of booking through the Wyndham portion of the resort we booked through the regular desk. Because we have a large family and we’re coming to celebrate our grandsons birthday we booked not one but 3 rooms. The total accommodation would be for 15 people. Each of the 3 rooms had a rate that was based on 1-4 people before the price would increase per person ( an additional fee of $30 per person)
This would mean with 4 people per room you would receive 4 water park wristbands per room. Upon arrival , we were informed we could only have a total of 5 wristbands. It seems to be simple math that 3 rooms x 4 bands per room is 12 wristbands before you begin to pay for additional people. We were perfectly willing to pay for the additional people above 12. Samatha , the front desk manager, explained that because we scheduled all 3 rooms on the same booking it reduced the number of wristbands included. This just doesn’t make sense to me
In any way. Purchasing more rooms should
Lead to an increased benefit, not a decreased benefit. I’m disappointed to say after many years of family and business trips, and our daughter even having worked here during her college years, this utter ridiculousness has caused this to be our last stay here. I would love for upper management to offer a valid reason for such an illogical business practice. May 17-19 2024
