The facility itself was pretty nice. However, when we got to our room, there was a really big wad of hair and a razor cap in the tub. The bathroom was really small. We literally had no space to change clothes without our kids seeing us straight out of the shower. Also, the fold out bed was atrocious. The mattress was paper thin and you could feel the springs jabbing in your back. Overall, we will probably not ever stay here again.
We stayed here for one night and had a great time. The waterpark is wonderful and has fun for all ages. They have plenty of restaurants in the waterpark. They can be a little pricey similar to an amusement park but everything looked great. They have a bar there as well which can get pretty busy and take a while to get a drink, but they made sure everybody was happy. The arcade was a great touch with tons of extra add on activities. I will say the games in the arcade are pretty highly priced compared to what you would get other places on your card. My son went through a $40 card in about 15 minutes there. Our room came with two queen beds and a sofa sleeper queen right on the golf course. The room was great and just what we needed. I will say the bathroom was pretty small and could use some updating in terms of lighting. However, for what we paid for we got a great bargain . We will most likely be back for another trip.
WILL at the front desk was awesome! He was very attentive and helpful, and gave us great service! Everything from our room to the welcome package to the convenience of the fast shuttle service to and from Soaky Mountain and the other lodges and cabanas was awesome! We got a great deal and we fell in love with the area! We’ll be back soon! - A Miami Family ❤️
We stayed at Wilderness at the Smokies- Stone Hill Lodge. It's across the street from the indoor water park. The hotel common areas, including bathrooms were clean and well- maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful, including the shuttle drivers.
The indoor water park was clean and well- maintained. We liked everything from the Grizzly Grill and Molly's Milkshakes. It was also a blast for ages 8- 48 with the older crowd hitting the slides and hot tub and younger ones in the wave pool AND the rooftop pool... The wave pool is awesome!
My husband and I got to be kids again and even had a cocktail or two knowing our kids were safe and we had a shuttle home. It was such a a relaxing vacation knowing we had everything fun right at our resort.
It's a split bath where the sink is in the "hall" and has ample countertop for toiletries and lighting for makeup. However, the toilet and shower room is tiny and only lit by exhaust fan light. It's like bathing by candlelight and there's no water pressure on the 6th floor.
We'll definitely be back for another family vacation. See you soon.
This was our second trip here and my wife and I had a blast. This was our first time visiting Soaky Mountain as it wasn’t open when we came last time. The resort shuttles you from park to park and doesn’t take long to arrive, or it is a short walk to each destination. The room was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. We were able to check in at 1pm vs. the normal 4pm time without paying for early check in (hint). Another tip we stayed in the Stone Lodge, I would recommend the River Lodge as it has the indoor water park attached. Especially if you’re traveling with small children.
It was a bad experience for us. First I didn’t know there was nothing to do at this hotel. Everything is at the river lodge location so you have to drive across the street to do anything but pay the same price.
Second we wanted to order room dining for dinner and we got no menu so we went to the front desk and was told she “couldn’t find the menu sorry” and didn’t assist further and ignored my boyfriend.
So the river lodge gets everything and we can’t even get room dining at the stone hill lodge. The pools close early at 8 which is too early most resorts do 10. It’s still light outside until 9:30.
Do not pay to book here if the river lodge is open. It’s waste of money. Everything you can do is at the river lodge which is all the way across the street.
2 star hotel with 4 star prices and no breakfast. Not sure if all areas are this bad or this is where they put people with service animals. Pretty bad experience but worth 2 stars because of play areas.
Made a quick trip up for a few days. Everything is made to be super easy and convenient. The staff are all helpful. The beds are small to be queen size beds and the rooms a little small, but you're not in there much. Definitely recommend a stay.
