Best WLM Reviews
When you first walk in, they greet you with a smile and then sit you. They get your drink order and then give you a few minutes before you order. Coming to your table every 2 minutes to check in on you. The presentation of the food is amazing. When you bite into it, it melts in your mouth. My husband got the Chicken Kentucky and I got the French Dip. If you are in Martinsville check it out.. I will definitely be coming back.
We arrived on a Saturday night around 5:30. We were immediately seated and our drink orders arrived quickly. Our waiter was very friendly and invited us back for upcoming events. The food was very SW Virginia, local, and delicious.
First visit, and it won't be the last. I read other reviews and would like to address a few things. This is a small, local owned restaurant, with a smaller kitchen and food is freshly prepared. The hostess told us the food wait was about 45 minutes. She was super friendly and accommodating. I would expect 35-45 minutes in a restaurant this size. The menu is smaller, but that helps a small kitchen function more efficiently and there is a lot of variety. Like all of the service industry, they are short of help and hiring. Every wait person we observed were trying hard. Drinks were refilled as fast as our waiter could, and our food was wonderful. The portions are huge. It was great to find a place offering something a little different that is also delicious. Hopefully this restaurant rebounds well. (Bacon fries, New Orleans Pasta, Parm Chicken)
we were going to take a picture of our bbq bacon crack fries beforehand but they looked so good we dug in immediately. it was actually the most delicious thing I have ever tasted.
The staff was great!!! Super fun and sweet
Behind the old mall in Martinsville is this hidden gem of a restaurant. We had lunch there and the service , food and value were great. Plan to return in the future.
Huge portins of food! Very Friendly staff and great bloody Marys. I had the fish and chips w/jalapeno cheese grits and everything was delicious. Definitely recommend.
Pet friendly (outside) which was great. They even brought out a dog bowl with water even though we had one with us on a road trip. Food was tasty and enjoyed sitting on the patio with the cooler weather.
This little gem is tucked behind the Patrick Henry Mall. I enjoyed a well balanced draft blackberry cider, while husband had an unsweetened tea. He prefers a stronger more robust iced black tea. He ordered the fish and chips. Fish (tilapia fingers) was hot, chips (waffle fries) had too much time to cool before served at the table.
I ordered smokehouse burger on greens with sweet potato fries, which were HOT just the way i like them. I ordered a medium rare burger, expecting it would be served as a medium or medium well as is the case with most restaurants. The burger came out well prepared, perfect medium rare.
The place was quiet at 1130am, one other table for six was seated shortly after we stopped in. Another couple came in, sat down, and left without receiving a menu or attention after just a minute or two.
Short staffed restaurants (two people taking care of everything) seem to be the new normal as we travel across the states.
Limited lunch menu, no obvious gluten free options. Had the weather been nicer, we would have eaten on the outdoor patio with our pup.
