Best WLM Reviews
I quickly chose Wild upon looking for a spot to meet a friend on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Needing a gluten free option, I was delighted to find Wild on Hudson St in New York City with an 100% gluten free menu.
This is a charming restaurant that offers a delightful dining experience. Specializing in gluten-free and organic dishes, Wild ensures that every meal is both delicious and health-conscious. The menu features a variety of options, from artisanal pizzas to fresh salads, all made with high-quality ingredients. I had the salmon and beet salad, and it was so refreshing and filling.
Jimena was our server and she was awesome. Give her a raise!! But truthfully, all of the staff is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. The outdoor seating area is particularly lovely and we really enjoy it.
DEFINITELY will be back!!????????????
This spot has been on my list of places to try for months. I left a bit disappointed though, the food lacked flavor. I ordered the butternut squash ravioli and the calamari. The calamari was good, but the bowl they serve it in made the bottom ones soggy. The ravioli was a perfect al dente, but the flavor was just not there. Service was good. The space is extremely small and gets quite loud. I don't think I'll be back, there's better spots.
I swear I've been here, but I'm getting up in years and the lack of a previous Yelp review indicates perhaps not. Ay caramba.
Regardless, we came here for a birthday dinner one warm, chaotic Saturday night. It was so busy and insane, the NYPD even came by at one point--though it was unclear if the manager had called them or if someone above had called the NYPD on the manager. The officers came out, took a quick look around, then turned around and drove off. No idea what the issue was. Your tax dollars at work, folks.
Anywho, the food was your standard Italian-American fare without much to distinguish it from the ocean of similar joints throughout the city. We started with some mozzie sticks, which were appropriately bar quality, and Fried Artichokes, which were eh.
On to entrees: My Spicy Seafood Pasta was about as spicy as a Westchester soccer mom. Points for above-average portions of shrimp, but minus 1K points to Hufflepuff for not knowing what a chile pepper is. The Chicken Parmigiano was better but still bland, while the Avocado Pizza won for weirdest dish of the night that still didn't taste all that great. I liked the side of Mashed Potatoes, I guess, but at $9 a pop, those better be made from actual Yukon gold potatoes (emphasis on the "gold").
I want to say dessert made up for the mediocrity, but I can't. The Chocolate Caramel Crunch wasn't bad, but my regular Cheesecake was...wrong. Weirdly dry, like it was made from vegan cheese instead of cream cheese, and lacking any discernible sweetness. And this is coming from an Asian gal whose favorites sweets are the "not too sweet" kind. I wouldn't order this unless you enjoy circular sawdust.
We just went to Wild for had a small pizza-making party for my daughter’s 15th birthday. There were 3 adults and 3 kids in our group. We made the dough, then enjoyed a few appetizers and beverages while the dough rose. We had fun making the pizzas, and they cooked fairly quickly and were delicious. Francis took awesome care of us, and I highly recommend Wild for a relaxed and delicious event! I look forward to come back for a meal.
The is spot is the cutest outdoor date spots in the West Village. The outside is perfect for the season so get there now.
I’m sometimes skeptical about gluten-free menus, but after my meal at Wild, I see it can be done without sacrificing any taste and the quality of the food actually increases.
Here were our favorite, must try dishes (all gf somehow!):
???? Mozzarella Sticks
???? Chicken Parmigiano
???? Wild Mushroom Truffle Pizza
???? Seafood Pasta Special
???? Garganelli Pesto
???? Salted Caramel Cake
Wild is a nice gluten free restaurant focused on pizza, pasta, and burgers. Also have salads and Italian inspired entrees. Everything is gluten free, so no concerns about cross contamination. Specials menu has a lot of interesting offerings. We went with the fried artichoke that was served with aioli as an appetizer. Enjoyed a burger, pasta, and pizza for main. All good. Dessert enjoyed cannoli and carrot cake, although cake served chilled and was dry and crumbly. Service was fine. Music played too loud inside. Overall good experience.
Love wild, the chicken piccata was amazing but really the whole menu looked so good. Also totally appreciate a 100% gluten free kitchen, and if you don't need to eat gluten free then I am jealous of you but also you wouldn't even know this food is gluten free. Celiac's celebrate!!!
I had a wonderful experience at Wild! Erika provided excellent service—she was incredibly attentive and made sure everything was perfect during our visit. Her friendly and servicial attitude really stood out and made the meal even more enjoyable. The food was delicious, and the brunch menu is not only tasty but also very affordable. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon! Highly recommend.
