Best WLM Reviews

My husband and I went for dinner at Wild Ginger. We had made reservations for 5:30pm, but arrived earlier than planned and they were able to seat us right away.
Our server and the rest of the staff were so friendly and attentive!
We ordered spring rolls as our appetizer and butter chicken, pad Thai, and a bowl of rice to share. It was the perfect amount of food and everything was so delicious. The butter chicken was so creamy and rich. The pad Thai noodles were very tasty and I liked the texture of the noodles.
The combination of delicious food, attentive service, and inviting atmosphere made for an unforgettable dining experience. I can’t wait to return and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal!
We ate two entrees and two appetizers from the Wild Ginger menu while seeing a show next door at The Triple Door, so my review is limited to the food. We appreciated very much that there are vegetarian offerings on the menu, so that was nice. But the cauliflower chickpea curry was bland, and the pad thai noodles were not fully cooked; when I tasted it I suggested to my son that he send it back (I would have) but he decided to eat what he could and let it go because he wasn't very hungry anyway. The cabbage salad was excellent, and the mushroom satay was good but small. We probably will not be visiting the restaurant.
A friend recommended this place and overall it was good. The highlight of my meal were the Siam Lettuce Cups. Way expensive but it was so good. As for the rest of the meal... the Spring rolls were nothing special at all. I've had better at Mom & Pop shops at $2 a roll. The papaya salad was good but it was not spicy at all. Typically I get asked how spicy I would like my salad but the server did not ask so I asked about the spice level. Out of a range of 1 thru 5, I asked for level 4. They served a nice portion of the salad and the flavor was good, but it was NOT spicy at all. Like NOT AT ALL. I really don't know what a level 1 would have been if what I received was a level 4. As for the Mongolian Noodles, it was so very salty. The only way we were able to finish this dish was to add bean sprouts that came with the Seven Flavor Beef. And the Seven Flavor Beef was very good but once again, it was very salty. We had to order a side of rice just to enjoy the dish. I feel like if they intended for the beef to be that salty, the server should have suggested rice or it should automatically come with rice. I just couldn't imagine someone being able to eat the dish by itself. Also, our server was not great. I believe that they are trying to be a high end restaurant so the staff try to reflect this by having an air of detached professionalism but comes off as snobbery. When our server FINALLY came by to check on our meal, we explained that the beef was too salty so we needed a side of rice, she did not ask if we would like for it to be returned or for a new dish to be prepared or anything else. She was not good about checking on us and finally when we were done with our meal, sitting and waiting for someone, a Manager walked by and noticed our dishes. He began clearing them out and we just offered some feedback about the salt level. He was not happy to hear what we had to say. We did not ask for our bill to be adjusted or ask for any compensation. It was just feedback but he was not happy about the comment. I would consider coming back here to try other dishes or re-try some of the dishes, but considering that their service and attitude was SO bad, I will not go out of my way to come here again. I did love the Siam Lettuce Cups though.
First, the service was great. Attentive and not obtrusive. Second, the atmosphere was clean and calm. We ate very early, so it was almost empty.
Last but not least, the food was worthwhile. We started with a ginger vodka martini (delightfully clean and subtlety ginger) and a thai chili margarita, which had a good chili punch with a fresh lime cover. The tequila was background.
The star of the night was the sea bass lettuce wraps. The jicima was fresh and juicy, and the sea bass was cooked perfectly, light, and flakey.
The chicken matey was tender, good char, and not dry at all. The peanut sauce could have been more spicy for us. Thank you for a generous serving!!!
The mongolian beef with homemade egg noodles has room for improvement but was still very good. I like the sweet sauce, but my husband prefers less sweet more spice. Either way, we agree the noodles missed the mark somehow. We can't agree on a suggestion for the chef... were they overcooked or too thin, or is it us?
Overall, excellent dining.
This place is huge in the amount of seating areas it's got two levels , it's very popular restaurant here on 3rd ave hood area , the quality of the food is nice lots to choose from, however the spring roll portion could be bigger then just 3 rolls . I would recommend reservations if you want window seats , its nearby to hotels and public transportation & car parking around . I like that they also serve triple door on show nights ???? too . Staff are very friendly here , I would consider this restaurant to be upscale / mid boogie / upper smart causal vibe and people here are more dressed up then down witch is nice to still have restaurants were you can dress up nice , I added the menu in too in post , the seats are comfy lots of booths , its popular for large groups too here they got those huge round tables .
The duck was outstanding! The fried rice was food. The green curry was just okay! Overall experience excellent! Great customer service! Will definitely go again to try other items on the menu!
It was a last minute dinner and we arrived at 7.30 pm with a group of 11. We were quickly accommodated because the restaurant wasn’t very busy on Monday. Food portions were quite big and easy to share. Food was tasty and correct and my favorite was Kung Pao Chicken. Indonesian Beef was ok too. A bit too much sweet sauce on Lamb Chops in our opinions. Prices are a bit too high considering quality. Service was ok in general except a moment where two people serving the food confused themselves with changing plates between courses. Overall we enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere was great! Thank you!
Review based on two visits:
They are really fortunate to have such awesome staff. Kind, professional, helpful.
Atmosphere of building is nice, simple, big, accommodating.
What they do well: desserts, prompt service, hand towels between meals that are nicely hot and refreshing. The lamb chops and lettuce cups were a good choice.
What they can work on: quality of rice, there’s just better tasting brands, way to cook, and be fresh. And honestly, cocktails were mediocre for me.
