The Wild Dunes Resort is truly exceptional and worth it.
The residences are stunning, with spacious, clean, and beautiful rooms that ensure a comfortable stay.
The staff is remarkably kind and delivers top-notch customer service.
The resort offers a wide range of activities to enjoy, and there are many things to do both on-site and in the surrounding area, along with charming shops and delightful restaurants.
There are multiple pools, and the spa facilities are luxurious.
Wild Dunes is the best location I could ask for, for our wedding last week. I worked very closely with Jess, the event coordinator, and Corina, the sales manager. They were fantastic to work with, and I could not ask for a better team, leading up to my wedding week!
Even with a hurricane the week of my wedding, Jess and the Wild Dunes team made everything amazing happen! We have our ceremony pushed under cover due to the rain, and 15 minutes before the ceremony, they moved everything to the rooftop! Everyone here went above and behind for the entire week we were here. I was under so much stress with the weather, and if my wedding was even going to happen or not! Elizabeth at the front desk helped with so many questions, and concerns I had, along with checking people in early, and moving rooms around to accommodate everyone!
Everyone who attended the wedding said how the venue was the best that they have been to, and the food was SO good! The staff was all so friendly, and I could not thank everyone enough!!
The spa was perfect! The massages were fantastic, and so were all of the amenities with the spa! Highly recommend if you are at the resort!
I could not say enough good things about this wedding venue! There is so much to do for everyone on the resort! All of the restaurants/bars were great, its not too far from the Charleston airport, and downtown is only 30 minutes away.
Relatively nice place. We stayed at a vacation home, but there are hotels and condos style accommodations available as well. The selling point of this for us was the location of the grand pavilion area in relation to the beach, pools and dining. We have a 1.5 year old and sometimes you just don't want to have everything be a major process to get packed up to go here and there. Since everything was a few minutes walk away, we could go to the beach for a bit, go back to the rental for lunch, then head to the pool all without ever getting in the car. When we were done we could grab food right at the pool restaurant and head back. The large splash pad for kids at the main pool was a nice touch as well. This place is pricey for sure, but we could justify it due to the convenience. If we had to hop in a car to go everywhere, I would not pay the price.
We stayed 4 nights at the Wild Dunes Resort, Sweetgrass Inn. From the time we pulled up to the time we pulled away we were swept off our feet with hospitality, cleanliness and fun. We had our 7 and 8 year olds with us. The food on the resort was great, a wide variety for everyone. We always had adequate seating at the pool, clean towels and great service. The taco airstream was a great place for a bite while at the pool. The Laughing Gull was more casual, but don't let that fool you as the food was wonderful. The Oyster Catcher is more fine dining and absolutely stands out with the unique and delicious menu. I had a facial at the spa and no corners were cut, it was excellent, relaxing and again everyone was so friendly. The beach access is great, the shops at the resort are inviting and have a little bit of something for everyone. The rooms are updated with nice big showers and a functional living space. We will return! I can't say enough about how great of an experience we had. For the record, I am not paid for a review either. :) Thanks Wild Dunes, you all have been wonderful!
We really enjoyed our time here! The beach was great, and the room was clean. There were 3 pool areas including one adult only pool! We enjoyed the live music at the restaurant on the beach one of the nights, and tried 2 other restaurants on the property as well. Though some were a bit pricy, we had great service and the food was good and very convenient to get to.
We had a fantastic stay at Wild Dunes Resort for our end of summer vacation! The service was top-notch—every staff member was attentive and friendly. We are especially grateful for Shanique, who checked us in and out, who surprised us with a bottle of champagne and a thoughtful handwritten note in our room after we said we were celebrating our engagement.
The food across the restaurants we tried was also very good save for Coastal Provisions. Coastal Provisions wasn't bad per se, it just wasn't nearly as good as all the other spots we tried.
Overall, the trip exceeded our expectations and we would definitely come back.
Very disappointing stay here! First off, just trying to find the location is an absolute nightmare. Little signage and an incorrect location on Apple Maps had me trying to find the place for 20+ minutes. Then on arrival, staff completely butchered my name and valet was not proactive at all, but rather passive. At checkin, Front Desk provided little recognition of my globalist status and lacked empathy for the trouble finding the hotel. I then went up to my room and discovered that they hadn’t given me the correct room type I had booked. I went back down and was told that they “gave me the room they saw in the system” even though I could show them confirmation confirming otherwise. They then told me they were sold out and could upgrade me but I had to switch to the other hotel. Turns out that hotel is the more family focused of the two properties and I saw so many instances of parents just looking to get drunk or not parent and children shouting or running loose around the hotel. I finally had enough and spoke with one of the Managers, Jonah, who was the only one who tried anything to remedy the stay. He offered to take care of my dinner, but when I went to the restaurant, the entrance wasn’t clear and the 4 staff members continued hanging out chatting with each other behind the bar rather than greet me or offer to seat me. I finally walked up to the bar but was told if I wanted a table, I had to go to the other side but then when I did, they had no tables available. I went back to the bar and begrudgingly ordered some food but they misrepresented the sizes of the food and the pizza came out tasting awful! I was so done with my stay by the next morning, I checked out early. Front Desk staff were slow and one of them chose to chit chat socially with another employee who was off duty rather than help me - something I’m not sure I’ve ever seen before, let alone at a property that claims to be luxury. Upon checking out, I asked for my car to be brought around. After waiting out front for 20 minutes (on a broken foot), I finally inquired about my car only to find out that they brought it around to the wrong hotel! This stay was such a disappointment and I cannot stress enough for anyone looking for some quiet or romantic time to avoid this place. Service is just awful and you’ll regret it, especially if you’re used to the typically high standards set by Hyatt. Save your money and points and stay elsewhere!
Stay 4 nights in Lagoon Villa 8
No help from security regarding directions. 3 doors to unit but long code on the middle one door. Spacious with kitchen, living area, 2 small outdated bathrooms with 2 bedrooms. Could not use either balcony, patio furniture dirty. Smells like wet mold only at the living room large glass window. Kitchen outdated. Plenty of dishes. Cannot get good access to washer and dryer because of a large utility stand in the tiny space. Quiet area near with access to pool. Came home with what I thought were mosquito bites but after three days the itching was unbearable. Went to Urgent Care, treated for possible bed bug bites.
