Extremely disappointed. We just returned from a 3 night stay. The positives: free parking & a continental breakfast.||The negatives: avoid room 208. It was absolutely horrible. There were only the two of us, but the space was incredibly lacking. The only place to sit was the bed. Although we had a very small settee in the room, that was the only space to unpack our clothes for our stay. The room had 1 very small window so was dark & felt dirty. Your car keys must be left with the front desk. After 2 days, our vehicle was moved somewhere. When trying to leave early this morning, we had to call the emergency phone number because the office was closed. A maintenance man was sent over. He took my husband and drove around to locate the car. How ridiculous!||We will not choose this place again. There are too many choices to deal with this. In closing, if they tell you your room is 208, push back. Honestly.
Wicker Guesthouse is a very eclectic, older property located right off Duval Street. Check-in is on Duval and we had to call to for access to the office, but GG showed up quickly and was just a hoot! Our unit was ready early despite a late check-out before us and we got right in. The property is spread out over two blocks and there is adequate reserved parking on the surrounding streets. There are two pools--one on each block--and a hot tub in the courtyard. The continental breakfast was a nice plus. The units all seem to be different and each has its own charm, but this is not a modern property. Some units are off the street while others are on or overlook the courtyards. Our unit was the smallest--a converted attic space with sloping low ceilings--but also the least expensive and certainly adequate for our one-night stay. A/C is via window units so there is that noise all the time. There's a real labyrinthine feel that made the property seem much larger than it really is. For Old Town Key West, this place completely fits in, is centrally located, was reasonably priced and a lot of fun--we would stay at Wicker Guesthouse again!
Really bad service at the front desk for a $300 and up a night price. No parking upon check in. So when checking in all the people walking on the sidewalk are yelling to get out the way since this guesthouse provides the tiniest driveway for their guests to check in without providing an alternative space. Very stressful and inefficient. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!!
After thinking this nightmare was over after checking in, we were told to park in the back where we were furthermore instructed to block the cars and leave our car keys at the front desk since there is absolutely no parking. The worst!
**Update: Management figured out a solution to help accommodate us. Rooms are very clean and beds are comfy. Location is great too.
Room was small . Not a single window in the room. Guest in neighboring rooms were noisy. Parking was atrocious. If you left the space you were in you were lucky to have a space when you returned. Keys had to be left at desk . If you needed your car after office closed you had to contact an emergency number. Vehicles were parked so close you could not even load or unload your vehicle. Refrigerator and microwave were located in difficult place to use. Young lady at desk ( Emma) absolutely no help at all. A/C very noisy. Room was not cleaned until after 6 pm . If all you need is a place to lay your head and you want to stay on the 900 block of Duvall St . This may work for you. I will not return and suggest you check other options before you choose Wicker Guesthouse
We stayed a the wicker house. It was awesome. walking distance to every where. Cozy rooms, cozy beds. Has a big tub. Pool. Everyone is super sweet. We even had big iguanas running around. Had a cute little area for with breakfast came with room.
I love this hotel a lot. It’s so unique like Hemingway ‘s house-museum)) Few beautiful and old American southern style houses with plenty of rooms. Beautiful furniture all around here. Nice pool. The grill outside. Free Parking. Good service. Nice beds. Etc
Friendly and helpful staff. Cozy apartments, airco wasn't really covering the whole room tho. Breakfast was nice and we had a great overall stay. Hotel was located nearby a shopping street and a few minutes walk from the Most Southpoint of USA.
I stay at the Wicker Guesthouse at least once a year. GG and Emma ALWAYS make me feel welcome. The property is beautiful. The rooms are quaint but comfortable. Best of all is the location. Easy walking distance to everything. Thank you for everything
