Best WLM Reviews
Had a great experience with all of the doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, and staff here for my first pregnancy. I never felt rushed during any of my appointments and everyone was willing to answer any and all of my questions. If I ever had a concern, I could easily call in and receive a call back quickly, or get a scheduled appointment if needed. I ended up having an unplanned c-section at 36 weeks and Dr. Smith did an amazing job. She was super reassuring before and during the procedure, and my incision looks great 4 weeks postpartum.
I have been a patient with Washington OBGYN for close to 20 years. All throughout my teens and adulthood. I was very happy and pleased with my GYN care and saw Shreen for the longest time. The nonbaby delivering clinicians are WONDERFUL. However, I had my first child last April 2023 and didn't have a great experience. There were only 4 delivery doctors at the time and a lot of turnover since COVID. Two of the doctors I really enjoyed (Butcher and Zuwila) left the practice. The day I went into labor I went on my own (didn't have an induction meanwhile they kept recommending) 1 week prior to my due date. The doctor had just come back to the practice after being away and was her first day back at Washington. Overall, I was put on Pitocin too soon which ended in an undesirable c-section. The bedside manner of the doctor and nurses was unfortunate throughout the process. The provider was very unkind and told me I was giving up and she had to call it. There was no coaching during labor or professional bedside manner after my c-section while being stitched up. I left a very honest review after my delivery with no follow-up. Recently I became pregnancy with my 2nd child and really hoped my first experience was just a fluke. However, during my first 16 weeks I shared in person my previous pregnancy concerns and discussed future vbac for my current pregnancy. The doctors were very negative and made it sound like an inconvenience. When I decided to get another opinion from Jefferson Hospital, I was so happy with how they treated me and talked to me like a real person and explained all the pros and cons. When I called Washington to cancel my appointment and let them know I was switching practices I was polite and when I shared, I was switching she said OK, bye. Didn't ask why or anything. It's very unfortunate how the practice has been operating especially on the OB side.
I had an appointment last Monday but unfortunately couldn't find a ride in time tried calling to reschedule ever since but either the line is busy or no one wants to answer.
DO NOT GO HERE!! Appointments have been canceled WITHOUT notification multiple times because they do not have staff. You will always hold for at least 20 minutes when trying to reach the office. I had a test done on monday and instead of the doctor meeting with me after to discuss the IMMEDIATE imaging results, they took two days to return my call to tell me they could see me in JANUARY of next year to discuss results and next steps. Do not waste your money and time with this practice!!
As an older woman, I have been to several gynecologists over time being a patient at WHS for many years now. I always request Dr. Simons! She is kind, thorough, compassionate, and explains everything to me. Never have I had a problem with the assistants or office staff. Reading some of the bad reviews saddens me, because as a patient they deserved better treatment. Each of us have to be our own advocate; especially when it comes to our health. Proper training is essential & a personality helps!???? But anyone can have a bad day.
I have been going to Shreen for years and years. I always see the same doctor, I've never had any scheduling issues, and rarely do I wait long to get in for my appointment. You schedule with whatever doctor you prefer. You don't just go and get placed in with someone different every time. They all work different days, times, offices. From all of my many experiences here, I would recommend!
I go to the Washington office and I have been very happy. The staff is always pleasant and helpful, my phone calls are returned in the same day, my wait time for appointments is surprisingly fast! I worked with Dr. Sheth for a recent total hysterectomy and I highly recommend him. He is short and to the point, but nice, helpful, and thorough. He explained things to me in great detail and answered all of my questions. The surgery could not have gone better. I will not hesitate to recommend Dr. Sheth and the Washington branch to other women.
I was a patient of this practice for over 15 years. Always long waits, and unprofessional staff. The office manager here told me that a medical issue I experienced was my fault. I told my nurse about the upsetting conversation, and the nurse asked me to file a report with WHS Human Resources, because she always hears terrible things about her. The nurse had also given me inaccurate medical advice, concerning birth control.
I switched to UPMC just before my first pregnancy and am so thankful. I would not recommend any WHS offices to anyone.
