In an area with a ton of different BBQ places and a level of competition that is really tough, this place stands out.
Yes, it is actually run by a family and it shows, you might find an older member of the clan around for a great conversation.
The food, particularly the brisket is really good. I have worked at several BBQ places over time and it’s easy to get sick of it after that experience, but this was quality and great tasting.
They also have an excellent amount of variety, which is hard to find in a place that also maintains good quality.
Really worth visiting!
Wholy Smokes… this meat is unmatched. Me and my husband got the small family meal with 1lb brisket and 1lb chicken with a side of yellow rice and apple cobbler; the meat is next level. Hands down THE best meat I’ve ever had from a barbecue joint. The chicken here is a real standout, it’s the best chicken I’ve had period - not just from a barbecue place but overall it’s the best. Seasoned incredibly, great ratio of crispy ends to juicy meat, and the spicy gold SLAPS. I’m not from Texas, so I don’t know how they do it there, but here in SC this gold sauce is the best I’ve had. The apple cobbler is homemade and delicious. I’d skip the yellow rice next time just because it was a little bland for me but it’d be a good side to compliment the very well seasoned meats. I’m excited to try more sides next time ???? The owner was there and thanked my husband who was picking up the order, very kind customer service from the owner and most of the staff! Only negative was one of our sauces on the side wasn’t closed and leaked all over the bag on the way home, but it didn’t get into anything because they wrapped it well, so I’m only heartbroken about missing some of the sauce ???? oh and the cornbread is delicious.
TRY THIS PLACE. Not to be a hater but it’s way better than SBH.

Food was so good. I'm not a fan of brisket but theirs made me one.
Shrimp was excellent, ribs were a bit dry but I think it was just the end of the day. Will try again.
The turkey leg, the TURKEY leg... I'm here for this. Don't need to go to a fair now.
Sides did not disappoint either. Mac and cheese and sweet potatoes crunch is great!
You can eat inside. Very spacious, quiet and peaceful. Can really sit and enjoy your meal. No TVs or music playing, just you and your family enjoying a meal together.

EXCELLENT! Food so good you may cry. It brings back childhood memories of weekend family gatherings. Healthy portions, bring your appetite or be prepared for a to-go box. Warm and friendly service. Soul food at it's finest.
Had the fried swai, collards, mac and cheese, cornbread, and banana pudding. All very well cooked and seasoned but if you like an extra kick ask for some hot sauce.
Is there any food that is more subjective to review than BBQ!? This place has great reviews, but we didn’t really care for it. Doesn’t mean it’s bad BBQ, just that we prefer our BBQ prepared differently. Best of luck to the owners and employees of this establishment!
Great: The Sides! Fried Okra, Baked Beans, Zucchini & Squash were all great.
Good: Sliced Briskit, Damn Hot & Original BBQ Sauces.
Not So Good: The sausage, Mac n Cheese, and the cornbread.
Overall: Decent BBQ, but lots of room for improvement.
We are on a RV trip from California. We stopped for lunch. Wow just wow. I ordered the Loaded Barrel with brisket and original sauce. It will be dinner too. My husband ordered ribs and brisket with green beans and spicy pinto beans. Both meals are delicious. Moist and tasty corn bread. We had the pleasure to visit with the cook and his family. They are delightful. Thank you for a better than expected lunch. Try the sweet potato crunch, dig down to the bottom. It’s like dessert.
Absolutely DELICIOUS southern cooking. Meats were very tender and their original sauce was out of this world. Every side dish was equally outstanding. The sweet potato crunch was especially delicious. Many of the very tasty sides have no meat in them (vegetarian) but you wouldn’t know it. Better sides than I’ve ever gotten at home or in a restaurant.
It’s family owned and operated and the family is as gracious and congenial as they come. Wonderful food prepared and served by wonderful people. Fed my belly and my soul at this restaurant.
Wholy Smokes!!!! Words cannot describe how excellent and delicious my meal was - 3 meats pork, brisket and ribs!!!! I have been looking for a barbecue restaurant here done right with smoke in the meat!!! The meat falls apart it’s made perfect. I will be back …and back again!!! Thank you for the wonderful meal and service!
