We happened to be in Florence overnight and found this little gem near our hotel. Wow! Fantastic barbecue! The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. The food was great! We had the Dargan Deviled eggs for starters. They were delicious with little pieces of fried chicken and fried pickle on top. We split the brisket and rib combo. It was tender and tasty. We don’t go to Florence often but we will def be back to this place. Our waiter, Infinity, was delightful!
This was our first time to Florence and we really wanted barbecue. What a terrific meal this was! The portions were generous for the price and all the food was delicious. I particularly liked the macaroni and cheese which was out of this world. Also the meats were all great. I think I would’ve liked more choices for types of barbecue sauce to go with them than the two that were offered. But those two were very very good. Beer selection was excellent. The flight sizes were quite large. This was my first time tasting chicken bog. I am not a fan. Our server, Tim, was excellent. I recommend this place if you’re in the area; they have live music on Sundays, per Tim.
Great food and service. Plenty of beer on tap, lots of craft options. BBQ was good, I had pulled pork, brisket, and burnt ends. The brisket was dry but the rest was good. The beans and slaw are great as well.
This is such a great option for all of your smoked meats, and homestyle sides in Florence. I had the brisket platter, and it was so good! The flavor was on point, and the bbq sauces provided gave it to a great touch. The only critique I would have is that the slices of brisket were a little small as compared to other places I have been. The collards and Mac & cheese were delicious. Our waiter’s name was “Infinite,” and he was nothing short of amazing. Great personality, and very attentive. I would definitely recommend giving this place a visit. This actually wasn’t my first time here, and it most certainly won’t be my last.
What a great find! Was looking for a great BBQ place on this trip and we found it. Yes, the deviled eggs listed on quite a few reviews are absolutely fantastic, great flavors come together. The brisket was one of the best I have had, great flavor, tender and just plain delicious. The burnt ends were meaty but not really burnt. The collard greens were tasty and got turned up a notch when our fantastic server suggested and offered pepper sauce. Worth the short detour we took off the highway. Town also was fun to explore.
This place is simply fantastic! We sat st the bar and had the 3 meat sampler with burnt ends, pulled pork and brisket. Truly some of the best BBQ I've ever had and my best friends dad had a pig farm and BBQ place so I know my BBQ from Wayyyyyyy back.
However, it's not just the delicious food that should draw you here. The bartenders service was as spot on as a server can be. Good suggestions, prompt and courteous, and exquisite mixology. Those crafted Cocktails are amazing! Definitely a must try place in DT Florence and worth the drive from the interstate
I ordered the chicken tender platter online, I believe it was about $20 excluding tip. The tenders were really juicy and crispy… but they didn’t have flavor! I was a little bit disappointed. I would go again, I’ll probably try the wings next time.
We have been to multiple places here in the Carolinas that claim award winning ribs! And we are from Ohio were BBQ runs deep in our blood!! And we know good BBQ! And Wholly has good BBQ!! There menu is very good the chicken bog is very very tasty! There Brisket is also very good! Everything we had from there menu was hitting pretty hard! Our server Drew was very pleasant and informative about the area.. Thanks for being so welcoming!!
