Brisket was super good! I’ve gotten the burnt ends at the their other location and they’re also great. The beans are different and very good. The home fries are different. A little costly with a drink but the quality is there. It was a very quiet night on a Thursday around 5pm. Person taking the order was pleasant. The food came out very quick and was warm. If you like spicy sauces try the #3. Pretty tasty!
I had the Brisket dinner platter with two sides. The fried okra was excellent. I am kind of a snob when it comes to my coleslaw, and this slaw was excellent as well. Nice and creamy, and not too sweet. The brisket, it was okay. It didn't really seem to be smoked, more like crock pot cooked. The six sauces that are available at the table were all amazing. They had a good variety of different BBQ style sauces to choose from. Service was great and prices were reasonable.
Very dark atmosphere. Tea was sour, Floor was sticky like a movie theater,I had the 2 meat the brisket was very thin cut and had a weird sauce glazed on it. No taste but tangy, not good and not warm. The cheddar jalapeno sausage was ok but not very warm either. Okra was hot coleslaw was decent. My wife had burnt ends and sausage. Neither was very warm, burnt ends were chewy. Her cheesy corn looked as if it had been reheated many times and was luke warm. Her fries tasted like catfish. First time eating here and the last time eating here. Says championship BBQ but not sure the last time they cared enough to win a competition.
The restaurant provided excellent service and served delicious food, which I thoroughly enjoyed. However, I couldn't help but notice that the restaurant appeared to be quite run down and in dire need of remodeling. Some of the light fixtures had non-functioning bulbs, and there was evident dirt accumulation in the corners of the windows and baseboards. Despite these observations, I gave the restaurant a four-star rating due to the excellent customer service and the quality of the food. It seemed to me that the restaurant was a former Shoney's establishment that had not undergone any significant renovations since its acquisition. I don't intend to be overly critical, but it would be great if the management could work on updating the appearance of the restaurant to match the high standard of the cuisine. The pricing was comparable to that of most BBQ joints in the area.
This place was so good that we stopped in again for dinner on our return trip home. The baby back ribs melted in your mouth and were delicious. We also liked the coleslaw, beans and potato salad sides.
Very friendly service too.
The name drew us in but the food was terrible. I normally do not say any place or food was bad, but wow this place was not good. All the meat was cold and didn't taste like anything. We had brisket, pulled pork and BBQ chicken. All of it was cold... The green beans were hot, so I will give them that. Not great but at least hot... Cold dinner roll with cold butter. The server tried to make up for our experience by giving us free cookies. They were not good either... Try it if you want, it might be good on a different day.
Food excellent. Love the different bbq sauce selection. Soda was out of coke, most flavors of Dr pepper, out of root beer, and the list goes on. No one came to table. Lost getting more of a tip. Serve yourself but great food.
Such great food, really great staff. The food is amazing, highly suggest either the catfish or pulled chicken.
