The people are so nice there. The broccoli crunch salad is amazing. It's def. very different - not something that I ever thought I'd like! There were two gentlemen at the deli area today and a really nice woman and they were just very helpful and very happy.
But the best is I had two AMAZON returns and you walk in and there's no line and they treat you great and the whole process of returning an Amazon purchase takes about 3 seconds. Awesome! ????
I visited the Whole Foods Market at Lake Grove store for the first time yesterday to pick up an online order. That part of the experience went smoothly. However, while browsing the store and picking up a couple of additional items, I encountered several issues:
1) Misleading and confusing price labels: The store uses three different pricing tiers—regular, discount, and prime—on many items. Seems not many people to check on every item that has 3 different prices on when they do grocery shopping. And this confusion can easily result in customers paying more than intended.
2) Overcharges at checkout: Twice during this single visit, I was charged a higher price at checkout than what was labeled on the shelf. If this happened just once, it might be a simple mistake. However, it occurred with two different cashiers on the same trip. At customer service, I received a refund for an overcharge and several others with misleading labels. Before I left the store and noticed some red winter-berry on flower section by the door. The bundle was labeled $9.99, but at checkout, I was charged $12.99. Once again, I had to return to customer service to have this corrected.
These repeated “overcharge mistakes” not only wasted my time but also made me question the integrity of the store. The frequency and pattern of these incidents suggest something more systemic. It almost felt like these might be regular practices, potentially done on purpose.
Misleading labels and inconsistent pricing can confuse customers, leading them to unknowingly pay higher prices. This feels, at best, careless and, at worst, dishonest.
Just tried picking up Thanksgiving dinner. Tried walking in the store and store manager was outside saying store was closed. It was 1:13pm and guy said store closed at 1pm. I told him I was just picking up Thanksgiving dinner which was already paid for and that I didn’t need anything else. He said I wasn’t able to get it and that we’d get a refund. I said I don’t want a refund. I just want the food that we ordered. I kept asking if another employee could get it and bring it out and he said no. Keep in mind people are still inside shopping and I get they didn’t want people going into browse the aisles, but all I wanted to do was pickup a prepaid Thanksgiving dinner.
I come here often with my parents to do some weekly grocery shopping and they got awesome deals here if you got prime with Amazon actually. The groceries always seem to be fresh, the place is VERY clean, and they offer some cool stuff in the beauty aisle (they have vitamins, probiotics, collagen, organic skincare and makeup so definitely peep that aisle if you're into that stuff)! I also love that they offer a lot of organic options as well, it's hard to find those with a wide variety nowadays.
Loved it! Haven't been there since before Covid. Great selections of items throughout the store. Even got great food from the hot buffet section!
You know what you’re getting when you shop at Whole Foods.. A huge selection of wonderful health food products, great fresh organic produce, healthy prepared foods (including pizza, sushi and a huge salad bar).... But all of these come with a HUGE price tag.. That’s just the reality of shopping here.. Their acquisition by Amazon/Bezos hasn’t dropped the prices either.. If you are savvy and pay close attention to their prices you can really do well by shopping here.. You’ll occasionally find sale or discounted items that offer great savings, and if you’re an Amazon Prime member you can save a percentage on your entire purchase. But ultimately there are certain things that you can buy here that you just won’t find anywhere else.. For our family it’s definitely worth the effort and the trip.. Although we always combine our shopping trips here with a stop (first!) at Trader Joe’s across the street.. Its helpful to check their selection and prices first, and pay a little more at Whole Foods for the few items that you can only find here.. Besides the high prices, shopping at the Lake Grove Whole Foods location is a great way to support and supplement a healthy diet and lifestyle of you live on the East End of Long Island..
I went there last night and they were out of eggs. I went to the customer service and ask for them to give me the same price for other kind since they were out of stock. The kid in customer service was kind of rude and said: "the price is the price."
I spend about 850 in groceries every week at one of the most expensive supermarkets in America, where most of the time I have to even pack my own groceries cause they dont have people to do it.
Whole Foods: Pay attention and train your associates properly before you become the next Starbucks.
Walmart, Stop n Shop and many other supermarkets would issue some type of benefit (r. Check) in many instances, when they advertise a product that they dont have. I drove 20 min to ur store to get meat, fish, eggs and groceries.
Also, the dinning area is pack with employees resting and managers having meetings and scheduling. Sometimes there are no tables available. You also have the Amazon workers always working in the store pushing people or getting in the way picking products cause they are in a hurry. If you are going to mark up ur items 45%-65% as any other high end market at least offer ur customers a better experience. I traveled all over the country and it is pretty much the same experience i. 20 or more markets i have been in different states.
Decent services but confusing and possible misleading business practices. Always double check your prices from seafood or meat section, the yellow prime member prices can often be misplaced by accidents and or the items is no longer available and they don’t even bother to tell you, hoping you don’t catch them and end up buying the more expensive ticket item. Trust but verify, feels like it’s now a constant squid game, never know who to trust.
