Best WLM Reviews
Okay, let’s dive into this review! I came down to visit my boyfriend and was complaining about being in the south and not finding a good “Soul food” restaurant.Like everyone else I hoped on google to see what I could find, BOOM Who’s Got Soul Southern Grill popped up. Read some of their reviews and was on the fence, but we had to go see for ourselves. Baaaabe we’re so glade we did! Upon entering the restaurant, the cashier greeted us with a smile, I think she became a little annoyed when I started asking too many questions about the menu though ????. I decided on Fried catfish, Mac & cheese, sweet potatoes and collard greens. My boyfriend chose Jerk chicken, Mac & cheese and greens with peach cobbler. ALL items order were great, the Catfish could have had a dash or two more of seasoning but was very light and crisp, the greens were very flavorful (no pork or meat included) All around 9 out of 10. Oh and I almost forgot their sweet treat is everything and more, reminds me of “Grandma’s Sun tea in the jar”
Ohhhh we’ll be back! ????
I really wanted soul food and saw that Who’s Got Soul Had Turkey Wings, Mac and Cabbage so I checked the reviews and made my way down. The Turkey wings had good seasoning and they literally fell off the bone ???? I enjoyed the Mac and cheese and the cabbage was also very good. Don’t even get me started on the Banana Pudding one of my absolute favs for sure. 10/10 Highly recommend and Ace & Floyd made sure we were taken care of..Don’t walk Run down NOW..
I was in town for a few days, and every time i come to Georgia, I like to try different soul food restaurants. When I walked in, I was greeted with a smile by the employee in the back(sorry, i didn't get his name, but i think he had dreads). The moment I walked in, the desserts just welcomed you. They have a nice selection of sliced cakes along with banana pudding and peach cobbler. The restaurant was clean and the service was fast. There were many different options, but I chose the turkey wing. It came with a bed of rice, cornbread, and 2 sides. I got the mac and cheese, cabbage, peach cobbler for dessert, and a strawberry lemonade to wash it down. When I tell you EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS!!! The turkey wing was flavored to perfect and falling off the bones. The mac and cheese, along with the cabbage, was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The lemonade was sweet and refreshing. The peach cobbler was a bit too sweet for my taste, but it was delicious as well. I'm ready to go back to try something different on the menu to see if it tastes just as good. Price were fair with what I ordered. Definitely recommended if you're looking for good homecook soul food. Good job who got soul owner and staff.
Ordered the fried green tomatoes (10/12/24 around 6pm) and it’s a HELL NO! Taste like fish grease and soggy! However I have ordered the salmon previously and it was immaculate so that’s why I’m giving two stars so idk but I will never ever order these tomatoes again ????????
No seasoning needed. I had a vegetable plate and it was perfect. I didn’t need gravy on the dressing.
I’ve had many Soulfood places in Metro, Atlanta, and this one Won! I’ll make a special trip to Gwinnett for Soul Food.. priced slightly higher than other places, but it’s worth it
Food: 10/10
Service: 8/10
Location/Atmosphere: 8/10
Outdoors: Pretty easy to see, especially on the business marquee. The parking lot can be a bit dangerous, as there's traffic from all directions, and no stop/yield signs. May also need to u-turn back to the highway, depending on your exit.
Indoors: Cafeteria style; you enter (a bit confusing on where exactly to go if you're not a regular/local), make your way around the pick-up counter, and order at the register.
Customer Service: Not stellar; they've looked/felt hot/semi-bothered during my two visits...I thought it was due to the never-ending cooking/moving/heat of the kitchen directly behind them, but I've seen them be friendlier with repeat customers, so I'm not sure...not holding it against them/not a deterrence to a future visit.
Food: Taste, quality and temperature were PHENOMENAL! The greens, mac 'n cheese, sweet potato soufflé and chicken were cooked with SO MUCH LOVE. Definitely reminds me of a homey, holiday gathering, minus the grease-ridden recipes of yesteryear. I also ordered beef ribs, which tasted okay, but was way more fat than meat, so won't be ordering that again.
Otherwise, I HIGHLY recommend, and am a forever customer!
***Pro Tip: Get the cornbread instead of the croissant.***
The food and service were absolutely amazing! Waymon and Darius provided exceptional customer service, as this was our first time eating there. The red velvet cake is to die for and the best I’ve ever had! If you all are ever looking to expand, please keep Clemson/Anderson, SC in mind. I will definitely be visiting again!
Stopped by here for lunch and had an awesome experience! I ordered the oxtails over rice, black eyed peas, and potato salad and everything was great! Also, fast service and very clean environment! Will be back again!!
