Their TV service was not existing, blurry and only 1 channel you could actually see the picture. No hot breakfast.....only cold cereal, an apple or muffin. Ice machine broken. Had to go to front desk for ice. However, room was very nice and clean. Carpet could use a good cleaning. Bathroom good and clean. For an older hotel was surprised how clean it was. AMENITIES.....there was none!
We've stayed here twice while visiting Carlsbad Caverns, once in 2018 and then again recently in October. We had just as good an experience at the hotel as we had years ago. Property is well-maintained and rooms are large. Location is the best access by far to the caverns and bat flight, which is an immensely incredible experience. During our most recent stay, we ran into a problem that was not part of the hotel or property, but we were in a difficult situation. We reached out for help at the front office and Belinda and Mario went ABOVE and BEYOND to help us. We were so very grateful for the help and goodness of others. They treated us more like family than someone passing through. If back in the area, we would return here in a heartbeat.
Nice and clean motel with well kept grounds. I didn't see a single piece of trash in the parking nor a weed in the asphalt or flower beds. It's older, but very cared for. We enjoyed it and would happily book again!
A solid place to stay for one night. The room was dated but very spacious. They had a really nice fridge and freezer in the room. Beds were very comfortable. We stayed here and hiked Guadalupe Peak because it was the closest hotel to Guadalupe Mountains National Park. We would definitely stay here again to go to the park. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is that the shower was cold and it seemed to have no hot water. It wasn’t freezing, but it was not getting hot.
Be aware that there’s no food or restaurant in this little town after 3 PM. Either eat on your way into White’s City or bring something to eat.
Nice place overall
I usually only stay at Hilton hotels but I needed something really close to the caverns. This place blew away my expectations! Friendly and accommodating staff, super clean rooms, dog friendly. Thanks for having us.
Closest hotel to Carlsbad NP and Guadalupe Np so you can stage your trip from here. Super clean and very large rooms. Yes the tv reception stunk but who cares, you’re here to see nature and will be on your phone anyways. No too many amenities but cereal and banana for breakfast. Literally at the entrance to Carlsbad Caverns and to the white sands national park it’s only 3.2 hours away so doable there and back in a day too.
Updated and spacious room, extremely clean, cheap, comfortable bed and pillows. Nice fridge and freezer that actually kept things frozen. Plan ahead and bring your own meals to heat up in the microwave. Hotels can be so hit or miss, thank you for taking some pride of ownership and maintaining your property.
White City is cavern in was in a very convenient spot if you want to go see the Carlsbad caverns in New Mexico. It was very cozy and quiet. The rooms are very old fashioned like an older motel 6 but they were clean and the bed was comfortable.
