Best WLM Reviews
We brought the kids for a weekend getaway before the craziness of the holidays began. Our daughter is 4 and our son is 1 so we were limited to the activities that we could do in the high peaks region with the weather being as cold as it is so we mostly hung out at the lodge. Beautiful atmosphere, the rooms were so cozy and comfortable and it was very kid friendly. Already planning on going back!
Wow! Truly an incredible place and experience. I was blown away with the level of detail Plus the exquisite beauty of the log structure. Easily rivals the best Western lodges in the Rocky mountains and the Pacific Northwest. I have made it my goal to visit most of North America's great lodges. This is right up at the top with the best of them. The dining room with its double fireplaces was truly over the top! The layout of the resort was excellent, very conducive to families with plenty of activities. Everything was well kept and the service was good. With everybody having a good attitude. I did think the service in the restaurants was not quite top notch But the ambiance made up for it. I will definitely be back. Also a great location in Lake placid.
What a fabulous place to stay! Every amenity anyone would like, need, want is there. Included breakfast was fabulous and served in the most beautiful atmosphere. The staff could not be more pleasant or more helpful. Everywhere you look there is something else to see and to admire in this beautiful property. Every detail has been attended to. The location was perfect. It is within walking distance to downtown shops, churches, and restaurants. Truly a gem!
LOVED our stay here!! We came for our mini-moon and it was a real treat! Staff. It was so cozy, peaceful and relaxing and so close to downtown Lake Placid while being tucked away in the woods. There are so many activities on-site; indoor/outdoor pools and hot tubs, bowling alley, game room, movie theatre, hiking trails, s’mores by the campfires etc. Our room was immaculate. The staff were so friendly and accommodating — Mike, a server at Peak 47, was so nice and friendly! We will definitely be back! Thanks for a great mini-moon! ❤️
This review is specifically for Peak 47 restaurant. I had an okay experience tonight. I ordered a wood fire pizza with tomatoes
and it was just flavorless with hardly any mozzarella and room temperature when delivered to the table. Guys, pizza isn’t hard to make. Look up a tomato sauce recipe with San Marzano’s and season that sauce correctly, caramelized those onions and artichokes and give me some flavor. It takes
A chef to know that though. Cooks cook. Chefs know food. Hire a chef.
Heated tiles, jet tub, a fireplace on cold rainy evenings and a game room to sharpen my billiards skills! An amazing stay at this beautiful Adirondack resort. Always greeted with smiles and kind words from the staff. This was a wonderful experience that set the bar very high!
We loved it so much here. First time in lake placid and it will be a trip we go on every single year. The scenery, the restaurants, and the activities of the surrounding area was everything we hoped for in a weekend getaway. 100% recommend for couples and families.
My husband and I (and now our children) have been coming to the Whiteface Lodge every year since 2015. It was exquisite, from the service to the food offered in their restaurants to the movies in the theatre; however, since 2020, the quality of has gone down while their prices have gone up. There is a very minimal choice on their overpriced menus now and surprisingly the cleaning has lowered in quality. Upon checking in this year we had two workers, one after the other, come to our room to ask us if the room was clean. As I’m getting my child and baby settled I need to reassure them they did their job? I don’t know, we literally just checked in, sure it’s clean, I see clean towels and fresh soap. However, later in the evening my daughter finds a beer cap, my baby finds a silver bead on the floor, and I find a balled up sheet behind a chair with a bit of garbage near by (!). And since I’m pointing out my dislikes, they have a fairly small parking lot near their entrance for how large the place is, making those who must park in the back walk all the way around this giant resort, usually in single digits temperatures. Three stars for nostalgia. But it could change, this year’s trip is starting off disappointing to say the least.
