Had an amazing 5 night stay in early December.
We booked this hotel for the pool/bar area and it exceeded our expectations. Awesome vibes, lush tropical environment, great food and service and the hot tub was fantastic. We used it every day. The resort fees also included towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, coffee, afternoon slushies, etc. It's hard to get this much value anywhere else in Waikiki at this price.
Location is right smack in the middle of Waikiki about 8 minutes back from the beach. We walked a lot and it was super easy to get anywhere we wanted.
As some have noted the rooms are a little bit older and not renovated, but ours was perfectly comfortable, and we spent most of our time outside anyway. We slept great and did not have any noise issues (bar closes at 10).
Definitely would recommend if your priorities are good amenities and a fun environment at an affordable price.
Enjoyed everything about the White Sands Hotel. It was closely located to everywhere I wanted to experience on the island. Plenty of places in the area to eat, as well as, right there at the hotel, Hey Day, which I enjoyed too. All the amenities were great! I definitely will choose White Sands Hotel upon my next travel back. Only thing I would request, is a thicker comforter, as I preferably like to snuggle in my blanket when sleep…but that’s a me thing, I guess…cause the weather of course was beautiful and warm. I celebrated my solo birthday trip and I had a ball! The hotel was the perfect match to my vibes…boutiquey-chillz and vibrant! Mahola!-Charla
The bed, pillows etc were great. Just like being in our own bed. Great staff. We had a poolside room and got to listen to live music each night while sitting on our patio. We are checking out this am and they are allowing us to store our luggage with them for a few hours as we need to run some errands|Very happy with our stay!
Couldn't find any parking spots in front of hotel to unload out stuff during check in. All spots were taken by valet. We had to take a risk and park at red curb at the end of the block. Location is great, rooms are clean. Kitchen is ok. Next time It would be nice to see basic coffee maker, cups, plates and utensils. Beds are comfortable and it was quiet at nigh! All Bulbs in the room have cozy warm temperature. And bathroom light has very unpleasant cold light temp around 5000k. Pool water definitely needs to be cleaned
Beautiful and fun hotel in a great location right in waikiki definitely a great clean budget friendly hotel with a great pool and pool bar! When we stayed they were having an event there! Izzy at the front desk was so helpful and made sure that we had the best experience! Rooms are spacious and decorated so cute!!!
Outdoor pool and bar is such a great vibe, the hotel staff are also very welcoming and helpful. Food and drinks were good, although small sizes during happy hour. If you have a room facing the street, it is often quite loud, especially late evenings.
The rooms are a good size, however, possibly due to age could be cleaner. Carpet just seems old and dirty, same as bathrooms - perhaps some time doing a deeper clean could be helpful.
Enjoyed our stay though, great location.
really really nice bar and pool area. rooms are nothing special but they are very clean with good beds and if you have a room with pool view its really quiet. we slept very well. they also have beach chairs you can use for a day at the beach. all in all great value for waiki. we would stay there again.
Looks fine in pictures, but not in person… the rooms are tired and are in desperate need of some basic routine maintenance.||Our room has exposed drywall (did they run out of paint?), burnt light bulbs, AC that works on full blast or does not cool at all, a cold water tap that puts out warm/hot water and a ceiling fan that gets controlled by the next door room… suffice to say this remodel was rushed…||The location is pretty good, but parking is hell… either pay $44-$79 per night or spend the evenings looking for street parking. We are on vacation, but we couldn’t afford the parking on top of the resort fees (!!!), so it was hours of taking turns looking for parking…||The rooms get made every two days instead of daily. Likely to save money and as a post lockdown policy.||Staff is largely trying to help, but when I brought up the issues with electrical and plumbing, they were helpless…. There’s nobody to so repairs….||The hotel was pretty booked so there weren’t other options…||I would not recommend or stay here again…
