Traveled an hour from Cleveland to check out this place and the service was so good. The chicken and the breading was unique and the fries were so good. The other sides were ok. It was a nice time.
I’ve been wanting to try this chicken for several years. I’ve read so much about it however, I’ve never driven into this part of Ohio before. The food did not disappoint. The young lady at the counter was very nice and helpful. Loved the chicken and sides.
Great place. Barberton chicken is famous, but no one heard of it in Cleveland. Lilly, the hostess, is super nice, and so is the cook, Taivd. Great tasting chicken( the secret is cooked in lard), huge portion of fries.Coleslaw and rice hot sauce. 10.95 for 1/2 chicken. Breadcrumbs special too. Highly recommended of in the area.
Fries were burnt couldn't even bite into some they were hard as a rock. Had to wait 15 extra minutes for the food to be prepared. Over the phone they said 30 minutes, but took 45. The chicken was good they must have just changed the fryers out, but the fries just ruined the whole meal for us ... and of course we got double fries. I will likely eat there again after some time passes maybe they had a bad day. REVISION: I have sent 2 emails to the email provided in the reply and have not heard back. UPDATE: the owner contacted me and send a gift card for the inconvenience.
We drove from an hour away for this chicken. Very delicious! As good as I remember it being years ago! Great portions, too. Thanks for a wonderful experience!
This little restaurant has been hit by the 'signs of the times' No wait staff, limited menu... I wish I could say the chicken dinner was great, but it wasn't. The hot sauce was mostly liquid, and wings were way overcooked..fries were good, tho. Top it all off, I found a long whitish hair in my fries...Probably won't go back.
Last week we were visiting Akron and I had a hankering for some Barberton Ohio chicken.I chose the original White House location. We were a party of 6 and had our meals server family style, the chicken was just as I remembered tasty and not too dry, cooked to perfection with a slight crunch, the french fries ,hot rice and Cole slaw were also outstanding and very tasty, this sentiment was shared by all. The restaurant is in appearance as it always was, plain and drab BUT we came for the food and not the obeisance. The service was barely adequate ,the waitress forgot the bread and butter but made sure we had plenty of napkins when we were served the delicious, hot ,wonderful comfort food. We would very much recommend this establishment for a comfort/home cooked type meal at a reasonable price point, ENJOY!
Our 3-Thigh dinners were flawless, as usual. This is the absolute best Barberton Chicken choice in town! The only issue we had was that the iced tea tasted off, either tainted or turning. Our server replaced it with a different cold drink after we asked to have someone check it out in the kitchen.
