Best WLM Reviews

My family and I discovered this restaurant several months ago while passing through the Salt Lake City (SLC) Airport; however, we've never had the opportunity to try it because either: (1) our layover was too short; or (2) we ended up eating at a different restaurant. Our opportunity to finally try this place occurred on 24 Nov 2024 after being presented with a 3-hour delayed flight. After doing some research, I noticed that this business seems popular in the SLC area because there's another one within the city limits. But one thing that's weird is that the Google ratings dramatically differ from this airport location to the one in the city. I read through some of the reviews (there were a lot of negative comments), but we opted to try it anyway because people tend to be overly dramatic or straight up lie on their reviews. Why? I have no idea. Or perhaps we just got lucky with our visit.
When we first walked in, there were some communications issues with the hostesses because one of them told us that we could pick any table, but when we picked one, another employee in the dining area told us we needed to wait to be seated. Clearly wasn't a good way to start my experience here; however, things got better. Our main server, Kai, did an exceptional job throughout our dining experience; he was very attentive, friendly, and highly efficient. That itself was worth visiting and experiencing. The décor and atmosphere was wonderful, and it helped that the restaurant wasn't as busy...not to mention, football was playing on tv so it was a great time.
We ordered the Croque Monsieur Sandwich w/French Fries, Croque Madame Sandwich w/side of Arugula Salad, American Wagyu Bacon Cheeseburger w/Tomato Bisque, and Bourbon Butterscotch Pudding. Everything tasted magnificent with just one minor flaw - the egg on the Madame sandwich was slightly overcooked. Definitely nothing to get totally bent out of shape over like some people do, but regardless, it was something to point out. The cheeseburger was very delicious - my daughter was in heaven with that entrée. The star of the evening was definitely the Bourbon Butterscotch Pudding! I'm not a huge dessert fan but will admit that this dessert was outstanding.
The prices were adequate and matched the typical airport prices. Most of all, I highly respect this business for their continued support to the members of the Armed Forces, including its Veterans - thank you for that! All that being said, I'm not certain why this restaurant has surprisingly low reviews (1 star...really?)...but like I mentioned earlier, perhaps I got lucky...OR, some folks just have nothing better to do (or say) and enjoy leaving negative reviews for businesses around the world. Who knows - you be the judge. For me, I liked this restaurant as depicted in my 4-star rating and I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Stopped in for dinner waiting for a delayed plane. I definitely made the best choice! Friendly staff, great drinks, and food was played beautifully and came as described. I got the Buratta Salad and Tomato Bisque. Delicious! I’ll stop here again next time I’m passing through SLC airport.
If you are contemplating a drink or a meal at Salt Lake City Airport, I would recommend avoiding White Horse. My experience there was significantly marred by the bartender's rudeness and condescension, rendering it the worst bar experience I have ever encountered. Even fellow patrons were visibly surprised by the manner in which I was treated while awaiting service. The interaction also seemed to carry subtle racial undertones. I would not recommend those traveling to spend their money at this location. Instead, consider exploring other dining options within the airport that offer a more welcoming atmosphere and attentive service. There are several establishments known for their friendly staff and diverse menu selections that can provide a pleasant experience during your travel. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty meal or just a quick snack, taking a moment to find a place where you feel comfortable and respected can make all the difference in your journey. Safe travels!
FANTASTIC breakfast here in the SLC Airport and highly recommend! It can get kind of busy, so be sure to give yourself plenty of time, but I can promise that the food quality and taste is definitely worth it!
On this trip, I tried the veggie hash and blown away! So delicious, fresh and inventive!
Loved Briana, great service! The Prawn Cobb Salad was really good and very filling. I’ve tried a few other places in Salt Lake International and I was really disappointed. ESPECIALLY for what they charge. This place had great food, service and loved the view/ambiance.
After reading the reviews I thought this would be a great spot to grab breakfast. I WAS WRONG!! Maybe the lunch and dinner are better. I have had better steak and eggs in the army. I knew it was a risk to not go with a traditional bacon assisted breakfast item. All risk and no reward.
Additionally our server sat behind the bar for 5 minutes chating and on her phone while we waited for her to decide to get around to us. Another couple was sat a few min after us and by the time we ordered our food they were getting their meal. I wished I had their server.
Coffee was bitter and burnt tasting as if it had sat in the pot all night. Overall, not a great experience. I'm never going to go back here. I suggest, if it's breakfast time, skip this place and try anything else in the airport. Even if it's just fast food.
Awesome food, quick and the best Bloody Mary I’ve had in awhile. Flight s don’t serve real food anymore and the ham and cheese was extra special and not like momma ever made Big enough to share. Thanks Kai for being so nice on a Christmas Eve Layover! I definitely recommend this place.
Perfect!
I popped in for a nice breakfast before my flight. Fast service and delicious Ham and cheese omelette and DELICIOUS coffee!! Such a nice waitress too! Highly recommend????
