We were there for local color and drinks. The place assuredly has personality. Sat at the bar, bartender attentive. From 1884, this saloon has had its place in history, including the outlaw Bat Masterson to actor Chuck Norris’ Walker Texas Ranger. If you’re in the Stockyards; you should definitely stop by!
Great spot for live music. Seltzers $10 each but what’s money in a touristy area. No cover
We started a bar hop and this one was definitely on our list. Cool place with a lot of hats and other decor. The mini looked good so I wouldn’t mind trying some of their items.
My favorite bar at the stockyards I absolutely love this bar. The dance floor and the atmosphere is always a great time. Even when it's packed we have no issues getting drinks.
I really hesitate to post this but our experience at white elephant last night was honestly downright shocking. This is a place that our family has visited for half a century. We had a group in town and wanted to show our friends our favorite place. After having dinner at Lonesome Dove, we worked our way over to White Elephant only to be treated in a very hostile manner by a female manager working the door. I have never seen her before so I’m not sure if she is new but the second we entered the bar, she had a vendetta against one of our friends. She immediately told her that she could tell that she had had too much to drink and wouldn’t be allowed in the bar, which was shocking because our friend had consumed no more than 2 drinks over the span of hours. She was aggressive and would not even let us converse with her about what was happening. It was truly a terrible experience and was certainly not reflective of the White Elephant that we’ve loved for so long. Our friend was mortified. I can assure you that she wont be back and our group will start thinking twice about stopping by. I hope that this is not how management plans to treat loyal customers moving forward.
Came for the chili and liked the place but the website is misinformed.
Beware: There is no second round of chili from 6-8pm. The bartender told me it stopped at 6, however we could ask the back but he knew there was none left.

Live music was fantastic. The vibe was fantastic.
This was a very lively bar. It had that old saloon feel to it, which was very cool.
I ordered a whiskey well drink and it was nice and strong.
The atmosphere was great. It was very spacious and it had somewhat dark lighting. There was also a pool table, which was pretty neat as well.
Being that it was on a Sunday in which I visited, there wasn't live music. From the reviews that I read, live music is played here on some nights (I assume Fridays and Saturdays).
The decor and the rodeo theme make this place well worth the visit.
Overall, I would definitely return to have a couple of drinks and to enjoy the cool atmosphere.
A very original place, I just had to go in because of Walker Texas Ranger.

The place is great, a huge collection of hats of special personalities are all over the restaurant.
There are pool tables, freshly tapped beer and always live music. Just like this time, not last time 3 years ago.
Plus a huge collection of white elephants.... Perhaps the largest in the world...
