I love the White Dog. The atmosphere is cozy like a cup of tea on a rainy day. The poached pear salad is wonderful’ as is the Kennett Square mushroom soup rivals LG. My son commented the house burger was top 3 best he’s ever had. He planned to take half home but was compelled to finish it. I recommend the Buffalo chicken dip as well. It could be spicier but still very flavorful. My son loved the oysters. Lastly the drink I got was I think Autumn embrace? Delicious. Everything was spot on.
Despite the cold and unfeeling hostess who didn't greet us at all, the rest of our dining experience was great. Our wait person was Caroline who was friendly, warm, and kind. The food presentation, quality, and quantity were excellent. We dined here for brunch at 1230 on a Saturday. Tip: Be sure when making a reservation if you plan on patio dining to specify this otherwise there's a long wait. Just overlook the negativity and cold hospitality at the lobby because once you're in, it's happy happy joy joy!
White Dog Cafe Wayne is my go to with friends and family. The facility is so cute and well maintained. You can choose to sit inside or outside and usually they are very good to accommodate. I love the fact that they use fresh and organic ingredients. The quality of the food is very good and my favorite plate is the BLT. My only “complaint,” though not really, is that I would love for the latte to come in a slightly larger cup.
Fun theme with an incredible amount of art. Dog affecionados will appreciate the decor. The service is attentive. Menus are stored in sturdy pieces of wood and are quite heavy/bulky. It got a little chaotic with 6 of us at the table in terms of the amount of stuff around.
The charcuterie board was excellent. Meats, cheese, sauces, pickles, bread and tuna fish. Mains were a little lackluster, especially when considering the proud price tag. Both the creme brulee And dark chocolate cake with mint creme were spectacular.
Underwhelming pasta. Bolognese lacked body and salt. The lamb was not doing much and the pasta was a little undercooked. The burger was doing its thing. But again it didn’t WOW. All of it works as food and doesn’t really highlight seasonal and local foods. We only tried two of the dishes so maybe going to their new location would provide a more high end eatery vibe but for $65.00 the food just was not satisfying. I would have rather saved my money and ate at home.
The decor was unique and fun. Aside from that I must say I was not impressed. Food didn’t stand out to me and took longer to come out. Price points are high.
Wow! That wasn't nice. My husband and I stopped in for a happy hour tonight. The bar was busy, but not crazy busy. We asked about being seated at a vacant 4-top in the bar area. We were told it was reserved. Really? Who knew you could reserve a happy hour seat? The host (a fellow) did not even look at us as he dismissed us. Wow. Are you kidding?
Always a good time had at this dog-themed restaurant. We’ve dinned here so often It’s become difficult to recommend any dish. They’re all good.
