Best WLM Reviews
First timers at White Dog Cafe and it was a memorable one! Was more expensive than we initially thought but overall the food was worth the $$$, their bread basket, sandy ridge farms deviled eggs, and fall harvest salad were great starters and easily shareable. Their entrees such as the duck breast, Koch farms hot turkey sandwich and their signature ‘double cheddar’ burger were impeccable. The indoor decor hits home for us dog lovers! The staff were pleasant and efficient.
This was my 1st time at the establishment w my husband, son, and two (2) youngest grands for our once a month brunch!
Pros:
The food was absolutely incredible. The shrimp ???? and grits were made to perfection in the buttery sauce. The Yucatan potatoes were a little too overcooked for my liking. Let's just say that they were dunked/drenched in ketchup. The custom omelet was dry. However; those caramelized onions w spinach was quite tasty, to say the least.
Cons:
The table wasn't fully clean before we were seated. It was spinach on the table. One of the appetizer plates was dirty as well. The temperature could have been adjusted to the weather outdoors... it was very cold, and it made it uncomfortable while dining. And made the food colder sooner than it should have been. The women's bathroom was extremely tiny... it's hard to maneuver around in the areas.
Would I return for another dining experience? ABSOLUTELY. It has a pleasant Hamptons vibe.
The space was airy, bright, and inviting. The decor was quite befitting - White "Dog" House. The endless variations and breeds of dogs, from photos, statues, nick nacks, etc. The dog decor in the bathroom was cute.
Very good place for lunch! The atmosphere is bright and cheerful with a dog theme. The outdoor seating area surrounded by greenery gave a peaceful and comfy vibe. The lunch portions were generous, locally sourced ingredients that tasted great. Overall a pleasant experience.
We enjoyed our first visit here. I love the decor because it's all dog pictures and statues. The dog statue looking out the door is adorable. The menu has a lot of good choices, it was hard to decide. We had a few appetizers and entrees. The roasted chicken was tender and delicious and leftovers were equally good the following day. The manager introduced himself and welcomed us which was really nice. Our server was energetic and friendly. We'll be back when in the area.
Visited this super cute restaurant for the 1st time this week. I loved the atmosphere and decor. Our waitress was super attentive the entire evening. All our entrees were beautifully plated. Everything was fresh and delicious!! I will definitely be returning. ps. The only reason I deducted one star is because my food wasn't steaming hot when served (and that's how I prefer my food). Nonetheless it was quite good!!! No other negatives.
We ordered our thanksgiving dinner from here minus the turkey. I was really excited and thought the food sounded so good. Went to pick up the order but didn’t thoroughly check it, just noticed the boxes were super light. Got home and none of the containers were full. The picture I posted is supposed to be green bean casserole for 6. The gravy containers were 3/4 full, and the food wasn’t cheap. Then comes thanksgiving and everything just tasted off to me. The macaroni and cheese- sour. Brussels sprouts- sour. Broccoli gratin tasted like Broccoli and lemon, couldn’t taste the cheese at all. My husband thought they were just trying to be fancy using lemon in everything, but to me it tasted like everything had gone bad and it ruined the entire meal for me. We threw $200 worth of food in the trash for the most part. I don’t think anyone tasted this food before they sent it out. :(
Wow! Don't miss the mushroom side dish. And the fish was so fresh it must have been swimming this morning! And the service was fabulous, Caitlin was so professional and friend and took great care of us. This is a farm to table restaurant and the menu is small but of very high quality.
Excellent meal, service & atmosphere. Will return to try other menu items, which looks fantastic.
