I was at Beaumont Hospital dropping something off for someone late at night and I remembered that there was a White Castle on Coolidge on the other side of Woodward...key word being, was!
So I asked Google Maps if there were any nearby that were still open and six minutes later I was placing the first fast food order I've placed in several years!
A little while after that, I had safely returned home, but I can't say the same for those delicious fries or any of the bacon cheeseburgers w/onions!
I might have to entertain the idea of storming The Castle, more often. ????
I wasn't greet in-just stood in line for a while until someone wanted to take my order.Service is very slow. Soda area needs mopping very bad. It took almost 20 mins for a couple of(2) sliders and cheese sticks.
I purchased a #1 with cheese and extra pickles. The only thing I got was cheese and a few pickles. One burger didn’t even have pickles on it. I also ordered a chicken sandwich the chicken breast looks and feels like it sat out all week I wouldn’t dare bite into it. The service was like I did something wrong by coming and ordering food. The whole experience there was a total disgrace. I will never return. I would never mention to anyone else to go there. Steer clear of White Castle on Greenfield in oak park. TRASH
The cleanest, friendliest and tastiest White Castle I have ever dined in. The food was fresh and hot. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Highly recommend!
They took their sweet time to make my food (1hr) but the order I received seemed like it was thrown together in a rush because how do you forget the cheese, onions, ketchup and mustard off my sliders?? Why did I receive regular sprite when I asked for midnight sprite? Why did I receive no ranch?
Has to be the slowest and the most incompetent workers. This was the second time that they forgot something on my order from drive thru. Had to go in and wait another 20 minutes for the rest of my order. I will never return to another White Castle again. This one sealed the deal.
Food was good. Kinda odd how there is someone who comes right out to your car. But he was very friendly. Order took awhile and kinda dirty outside.
I hate say it but this was a terrible experience, I understand that online ordering adds a new dynamic to the fast food experience and that alot of places haven't worked out the best systems or are understaffed. It was clear that this team was dealing with a lot of online orders to fill but only 2 of the 4 staff were doing anything. One younger man was clearly working his tail off cooking, building and packaging the orders as well as attempting to take orders at the drive-thru and to him I have no complaints. However the other 3 were actively avoiding helping in any form. With a line of cars wrapped around the building and a 3/4ths full interior of people waiting to put in orders two of the yound men turned away from the front in fiddled around pretending to help the 1st guy and the other swept in the same spot for the entire 35 min I was there. The final young lady who was standing near the front where one would expect to place your order refused to acknowledge any of us standing in line and move condiment packages from 1 box on her right side to a different on her left... then back again, repeatedly. A full 5 min 7 of us stood in line wondering what exactly was happening, and it wasn't until the 1 hard worker said " I'll be with you all in a second" (while cooking and running the drive-thru still) that the lady sneared at him in obvious annoyance and said to the first person in line "we'll, what do u want?" Then proceed to place 5 of the 7 orders with massive mistakes. And when brought to her attention responsed with "yeah whatever we fix it". And at the first moment when no customers were waiting in line she disappeared and wasn't seen again. After an additional 20 min the young man who had been seemingly running the place by himself moved up front for a moment and we had to let him know many of us in the front still hadn't received our orders, he very politely apologized and started bagging up out orders. This young man truly deserves a raise and better team working with him. So after 35 min of waiting I finally got my food and went home. So annoyed with the entire situation I just left only to realize when I got home that it was 3 cheeseburgers short and the fries had been sitting g so long the were cold to the touch. I wish the best for that cook and hope he gets the appreciation he deserves but the rest of the team there were functionally useless.
