I don't usually review fast food places but we felt compelled to leave five stars for the service we receive Saturday 11/30/24.
The bug guy with the tattoo was super nice when taking our large order of what felt like the whole menu. There were other customers but our food came out very fast. And I have never, ever, had white castle food that was so fresh; hot crispy and delicious. The burgers were not soggy at all (white castle fans know that can be a problem).
Then when you have someone that genuinely smiles and wishes you a good day. That just put it over the top.
I think I'm jaded and just don't expect this level of service or quality from fastfood places but it was awesome and very much appreciated.
Thank you to the nice people working today! You guys make me want to eat white castle way more often!
For a white castle partnered with a gas station it still manages to keep the classic white castle vibe. Everything I ordered came up hot fast and fresh, very much will make a regular stop if on the area.
I think as we get older maybe our taste buds change, but I can for sure say that this place is not the same White Castle that we grew up with. The first thing that through me off guard was the tone from the worker over the intercom. The sound came off as annoyed when we asked to just have a minute to look over the menu. With our family of five in the car it became clear we should go with the new castle deal of ten new castle sandwiches, 20 chicken rings, with a thing of fries. When we got to the window, just like the intercom, the same guy just appeared so annoyed and unhappy. We received our food within seconds after paying which we thought was very impressive. We pulled over into their parking lot and pulled out our food for the kids and ourselves. We noticed that the burger buns were so soggy which meant one thing. The food must be frozen……just like their grocery store items. I understand why the grocery store items are not the best from White Castle, but expect fresh food items when I go out to eat. Unfortunately due to the service from an unhappy worker and the lack of fresh ingredients we will not be returning to this White Castle. I will say the Chicken Rings were the best item out of everything. Even our one year old daughter loved them, but even still, that is not enough to win us over to want to return. The Hinkley White Castle makes the best food . I live near the Forest lake location, and I won't eat there due to their soggy terrible tasting food. I travel to the north shore every year , and wouldn't dream of missing the stop fir sliders both directions! About 4 star for atmosphere, no dinning in option, so nor really applicable.
I truly do enjoy flying through their drive thru at odd hours. The employees are always very cool and seemingly in good spirits. It's always a nice experience.
Other than the girl taking the order... The food was great and fresh.. my husband asked if it was fresh. The girl rolled her eyes and pointed to where the food was being made. Not one word was spoken. The owners should really secret show once in a while.
My wife had her first White Castle experience. Service was faster than expected, price was right, and my wife enjoyed the burger. Thank you!!
This was inside a gas station. There were flys everywhere. Those flies weren’t shy to land on people, I watched a guy order with one chilling on his shoulder while I was slapping at them while they were landing on me. I swear one bit me. Northern Minnesota flies are savage.The ladies making the burgers on the grill kept leaning forward to flip the buns and their aprons brushed the buns in front of them. Who knows what else those aprons brush against all day. I was very hungry - still ate the food. Crazy what hunger will do to rational thought. The chicken ring slider and fries were bland. The cheeseburgers were so so. Because of the flies, I was very leery of the sticky fountain drink machine and decided against drinking my beverage. I’m not sick yet. I’ll update if that happens.
