I am from Tucson and I got my whole family out to go grab some dinner. Yes it was very far but so worth the trip. The service was wonderful, the food was out of this world delicious!! White Castles in Tempe you have a life time long distance driver who will definitely be coming back for more!!
I ate at White Castle for the first time ever today. I’ve heard many stories about the popularity of this chain and I’ve tried their frozen sliders from the grocery store before. I thought the frozen sliders are ok, but not great, but thought that they might be better when cooked and served fresh. I ordered #1 on the menu, which is 4 cheese sliders, small fries and small fountain drink. The total was $11.23. I wasn’t expecting to bite into a pickle since the sliders from the grocery store don’t have pickles. This was not a pleasant surprise since I don’t like pickles. The lobby was not that big but there was additional seating outside on the patio.
It has been suggested that people who grew up eating White Castle from a young age really like their food, whereas people who try it for the first time as an adult are not overly impressed. The latter describes me. I’m glad for the experience, but doubt that I will be back; it just wasn’t anything special.
Having heard from an East Coast native that the White Castle in Arizona doesn't quite match up, the experience turned out to be underwhelming. Despite the bustling noon crowd, the staff managed to keep both the indoor and outdoor dining areas clean. Yet, I couldn't shake the feeling that the food didn't quite justify the price. While the chicken sliders were decent, there are better options elsewhere. The beef sliders were tasty, but the portions felt too small for a $10 combo.
The AI drive through ordering was awful. Had to ask for help. Then they got the order wrong after confirming it three times that, YES, we do want cheese. Only 3 out of 10 of these had cheese. And they were extremely soggy. Very gross experience overall.
Super friendly staff, hot and fresh food, and the best part, they're not even half as busy as the one in Scottsdale... on a Wednesday afternoon anyhow! It's a little pricey for White Castle, but what's not these days! We will be back!
New restaurant in south Tempe, Arizona. Rolled up to a completely empty parking lot and empty drive-through but yet entire parking lot was filled with employees in Orange vest and they even had police blocking off the road. Told me I would have to park and go into the restaurant for faster service. So I did, and the entire restaurant was less than half full and the outside eat area was completely empty and there’s no line at the register. Ordered my food and waited just a few minutes for my meal. French fries were mediocre at best and the hamburgers were comparable to the frozen ones I have bought at the grocery store for years. Even the fresh hamburgers looked somewhat retarded, and I was significantly disappointed at the Build quality of said hamburgers at a restaurant that has been open for only a couple days. Hope they do well, but I doubt I will ever come back to this restaurant.
I love White Castle! I'm from the Midwest and this was one of my go-to fast food spots. I got lunch but came in the morning. Everything was fresh and fast. Hack: If you don't go to a fast food restaurant when they first open in the am just ask for everything fresh, that's the only why it eat fast food. You may have to wait a little but its worth the it.
Not the prices I once knew, but the quality ain't change. It's worth every penny. Onion chips are such an upgrade. 10 for 8.99 is a good deal considering the stand-alone prices per burger.
Clean dining area. Good work vibe. Not busy at 1900 on a Sunday.
