Went to visit this place for Brunch. Very great tasting food. There is music playing for Sunday brunch. There's a specific menu for Brunch time. Area is large enough for several people. Has party rooms even can host a wedding reception. What I didn't like was the establishment ran out of certain items of food... After the entire table order, you have to pay before being served your food. And we were given plastic ware as opposed to silverware. But the food was amazing. Waitress was attentive, and music was great.
Absolutely disappointed. I experienced the old location and the food was great. The new location is terrible. It looks great but service is WORST AND FOOD IS TERRIBLE. They have a nasty soup (NOT SAUCE) prepared for the crab boils and oysters. The managers are lying about being managers and only very few waitresses are actually doing their job. One lady is just scrolling on get phone. I'm so sad thar they ruined my mother's day night. I will not return. Great DJ AND THAT IS IT. Black people need to learn about actual hospitality!
I spent almost $80 on food. The fries were not as crispy and white like they should have been. They were half way burnt. The wings did not have a lot of sauce on them at all. I really expected the food to be better than this. However the waitres so very kind and patient with us. Great customer service.We came on 8/31 and I will say the restaurant was very pretty inside and clean however the bathroom was dirty. If I return again,it will only be for the liquor.
This was my very first time here me and my two coworkers went in. I ordered my drink. My friends ordered something simple as a Hennessey and Red Bull. My coworker about 30 minutes to receive then we ordered food. I ordered a 10 piece wing with fries a coworker order some calamari and another coworker order some cheese fries needless to say he never received cheese fries for 45 minutes. He canceled his order, the bartenders indulge and entertain all of the customers in the building instead of who’s at the bar it would probably be a great situation in the food spot and just having to wait and then we left there and went to another bar and order drinks and they were to us so you know we’re bar hoppers we love to go different places and vibe. The music was great. The DJ was awesome but again the taking 45 minutes for a Red Bull and Hennessey is ridiculous and receiving chicken that I ordered friend was waiting 45 minutes for some cheese fries things need to change they probably make a lot more money.
Sunday brunch is fye ???????????? Jerk chicken and waffles was AYCE Mimosas was unlimited Music was grown and sexy. Raquel our waitress kept our stomachs full and our drinks full. She was the best. Next week I'm coming back to try the AYCE Jerk Oxtails... If you like Sunday Brunch then this is going to be your spot.
PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE REVIEWS OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT!
1. They require that you pay as you go, so be prepared to order everything at once or to continually have your card swiped.
2. They are RESERVATION ONLY and yea, that includes the BAR! You must have a reservation prior to coming, they do not accommodate individuals or groups, even if they are not a full capacity. Also, you cannot order food at the bar if you reserve, only drinks.
3. Do not bring anything in your bag that can be smoked, that includes vapes and lighters, you will be turned around. Security is rude as well, so prepare yourself.
4. Pricing is moderate, and the venue is super spacious and very nice. They have brunch on Sundays with DJs and Host, as well as weekly events.
5. The food…(almost forgot about it) Food is “okay”, nothing stood out. Be careful consuming Oysters, they served the raw ones super warm and we ended up not eating them for fear that we would get sick. Menu is pretty inaccurate as well, so you will have to check with you waiter on EVERYTHING you see listed.
Lastly, the SERVICE IS HORRIBLE! And not your normal horrible, the woman who is a owner/host of the restaurant intentionally tries to get under the patrons skin when they enter. My party had over 10 people and as each party member arrived, they all complained about her at the door giving them attitudes (same with me). She kicked out a group of people that were not causing any issues, and I assume it had to do with reservations. She also tried to kick our party out because after the 5th person arrived and complained about her mistreatment of the guest and attitude, her response was “I ain’t talking to hall and we can leave her place”.
Whispers is on there umteenth location and is know for their violent past and shootings in the establishment, which also brings up a concern for safety. THIS PLACE IS NOT SAFE!
To the owner/host that made a point to tell me in that everyone needs to learn how SHE does things, because she’s been doing it her way and it will never change.
I hope you see this and know that I will be telling EVERYONE I know about your disgusting behavior and dictator like practices. It’s a restaurant not a SCHOOL! The power trip and ego have to GO! Hire some young, PRETTY and polite girls to work the door and sit yourself down ma’am if you can’t put your attitude to the back burner.
Jacksonville, PLEASE don’t waste your time or money here, it is NOT worth it. There a ton of other BLACK OWNED places that provide a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone like the Daq Shack!
If you expect Good food yes it is......
If they out of Plates ,they will bring you to go box. And plastic fork and you have to eat out of That. If you order drink double check. I order tonic water they Brought me Club soda . Check the picture how they serve Boil.... It's in Is salad mixer bowl... To crank open Crab legs you have to use your teeth. You will drink water from faucet in plastic cups... Pictures included take a look... All that over $70.. Keep in mind lunch price..
1st time here and the last one..

I went for a drink and oyster Rockefeller.. none that night only the regular ones. They were tasty. The drink was good, it wasn't crowded at all. Overall the atmosphere was nice
