Place is a dump. Smells old and damp. Every time I stop here it seems like there's hardly anyone here. They should permanently shut this place down. Maybe back when it first opened it was good but now it's not. I don't see how they stay in business. Even if they renovate this place again I doubt it will attract more people. I haven't been to Buffalo bills so i can't say much on that place. Only real customers here is at the truck stop.
Whiskey Pete's Casino was an unexpected highlight on my drive from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. I stopped by chance because I needed a restroom break. On my way back to the car, I decided to test my luck and played for about half an hour. To my amazement, I hit a $1,000 jackpot! I was absolutely thrilled! Now, every time I drive back from Vegas, I make sure to stop by, and I’ve never lost my money! It’s quiet and very peaceful, which is something I really appreciate. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming. I love this place, and it’s become my favorite stop on the way home. Highly recommended!
Didn't stay there, but stopped in hoping for a quick bite to eat, was too late for the restaurant, oh well. Gambled $10 away pretty quickly, the staff seemed friendly enough, we were the only people in the place, parking lot was empty making me question if it was even open, but it was.
There's nothing spectacular here, I appreciate the "time capsule" feeling of a place that was once bustling, equipped with a bar that is easy to imagine teaming with life in the hazy past, a little stage where I can imagine primm's finest Country Western artists poured their hearts out over worn out acoustic guitars.
Now it exists as a liminal space, barely even existing, and for that I give it 5 stars. Places like this are unique and close in the blink of an eye, never to be open to the public again.
The optimist in me would love to see this place revitalized, it seems to be in decent shape and well maintained. I guess the issue is drawing people into primm when Vegas is just up the road.
Didn't sense Whiskey Pete's ghost watching as I gambled either. I fear that even he may have moved on to the afterlife, growing bored with the lack of gamblers to watch.
Perhaps one day I'll stop in and stay a night.
This has been the most bizarre casino experience ever! They have semi truck parking so I decided to give it a try. Walked in and was blown away by how empty it was on a Friday night. Hardly any slot machines compared to how much space there was. More employees than customers. Went to the bar to grab a soda and waitress insisted I go sit down and play a game in order to get served. I could hear a cricket chirping behind the bar and that's exactly the sound that sums up this place! Why haven't they remodeled or demolished it ?! I'm convinced it's a front for something. They have to spend more money lighting the signs then they make in revenue! Doesn't make sense. Only good thing about this place is that all employees are extremely friendly but I'm guessing they're just desperate for tips? Quite depressing. ????
Well.. the staff was so accomadating which was wonderful.. we were able to get a full refund after seeing the atrocity that was our room. Cockroaches, crickets, mice poop, tarantula... the casino was dead as well with no bartender at the bar.. they are awaiting a renovation, and hopefully after it will be better.. even the staff said they have seen snakes, spiders, mice and roaches.. the entire carpet was covered in dead bug parts and bathroom in mouse poop..
Unfortunately I did not stay there,
But I always stopped in Whiskey Pete's in the way back home for many years since the Seventies to be exact. For hot dogs ????.50 cents and beverages ????. This time, I stopped as usual, and I found out that it's almost empty, hardly any machines to play, and the hot dogs were not inviting.
This stop there, I believe, was my last one .
It's so sad how everything changes.
But don't get me wrong, I did not spend the night there, so maybe the hotel is great.
Lol. This place is a ghost town. $12 for a beer or drink. Casino floor is empty. Hardly anyone here. Place just feels like a ghost town. I’ve never been to an empty truck stop bar until today. Thanks whiskey Pete’s for showing me there’s a first for everything.
Whiskey Pete’s is a fun, low-key and nostalgia-heavy casino with cool props and nice staff sprinkled through its casino floor. The building has a vibe of its own with a mix of old-Vegas charm and western-centric appeal. Perfect place to spend your last dollar and get lost in the desert=)
