Best WLM Reviews
Overall: 7.8/10
Excellent food quality at a fairly high price, set in a beautifully clean and spacious venue with professional, friendly service.
Atmosphere: 8.4/10
The restaurant offers a vibrant yet relaxing environment with stylish outdoor and indoor seating. The space balances modernity with comfort, making it a great spot for both casual and special outings.
Service: 7.2/10
Service is a highlight, with professional and genuinely friendly staff ensuring meals are served promptly and any needs are quickly met, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Cheeseburger: 8.7
A standout in Raleigh, this burger features a superbly flavored and perfectly cooked patty. Despite its high price, the fresh vegetables and bun complement the meat well, though the bun doesn't quite match the patty's wow factor. The only available side during brunch, home fries, unfortunately, did not meet the same high standards.
Biscuit: 4.3
The biscuit was flaky but disappointingly dry, and the accompanying cream lacked flavor, detracting from the overall enjoyment of the dish.
Rolled into town after 11. Found Whiskey Kitchen. Soooo much more than we could ask for. Great cocktails! Great food! Nice open space w good vibe.
Mia was an absolute gem! If you have to absolutely to request a server, she will take care of all of your needs. Great food recommendations! Super attentive, and great help with selecting our drinks! The indoor or outdoor vibe is perfect for all! Enjoy enjoy enjoy!!
It’s been a long time since I’ve stumbled along an independent restaurant that knocks it out like Whiskey Kitchen. I’m from out of town, always looking for something different, and I found it! The menu is fresh, with many options. The bar list is unparalleled. Staff very pleasant (ask for John!) and gave me the feeling I had more than one server, bravo! Well done Whiskey Kitchen, we’ll be back!
The Whiskey Kitchen offers a nice atmosphere and solid service, making it a decent spot for dinner, but the food left me with mixed feelings. I ordered the **Catfish Tonkatsu** ($17), which featured cornbread-battered North Carolina catfish topped with apricot tonkatsu sauce and jalapenos. While the fish was cooked well enough, it was somewhat mediocre overall, lacking the wow factor I had hoped for. The portion of coleslaw under the fish was so small you could barely see or taste it, which was disappointing.
My husband ordered the **Grain Bowl** ($15) with an addition of fried chicken ($7) and shrimp ($8). I sampled his bowl, and I must say, it was quite good. The shrimp added a nice flavor, and he mentioned that the chicken was also enjoyable. The fries we ordered were a highlight; they were crispy and paired well with the smoked ketchup, which added a unique twist.
The setting of Whiskey Kitchen is appealing, with a warm and inviting interior. The service was attentive and friendly, which added to the positive experience. However, based on the food alone, particularly the catfish, I wouldn’t say it stands out among the many dining options in the area. It’s a place I might consider returning to, but only if I were in the mood to try something different on the menu.
Stopped in for quick dinner with a friend. The atmosphere was nice and the place was huge to accommodate any size party. Waitress acted like she didn’t want to be at work and was rude most of the time. Service was slow. Food was good and drinks were good. Old fashioned cocktail was 7/10. Pork chop was 7/10 as well.
Visiting the area and had to stop here simply because of the name.
Positives:
1. Dog friendly out on the patio which was great since I was walking the dogs with me.
2. Flights of whiskey are reasonably priced. Plus, I rarely see places offer this which was neat.
3. The crispy brusselsprouts were phenomenal! Absolutely out of this world! I do wish the rest of my meal was better though (more to come on that).
4. Environment was comfortable and the place is massive.
5. Service was spot on. They brought water for the dogs and checked on things throughout my stay.
Negatives:
Honestly only 1 but my main meal was awful. I had the BBQ sandwich and it was so incredibly dry and it fell apart in clumps like wet cat food (minus the wet part). No flavor whatsoever. And the potato salad tasted like a jar of mayonnaise. I ultimately just dipped my sandwich in the sauce from the sprouts which made it better.
With way more positives, I'd likely go back and try a different dish or stick to the apps and drinks.
I only got appetizers and a bourbon flight. Both were amazing and very affordably priced! 3, 1oz pours of high dollar bourbon for $12. Very much enjoyed the experience. I'll definitely be back!
