Best WLM Reviews

We were visiting OKC for just a couple of days and thought we would give this place a shot since we were staying nearby.
The atmosphere was nice, everything was decked out for Christmas. While I am generally not a fan of TVs and music playing in the background, the music was low enough that it didn't interfere with conversation.
Our hostess sat us promptly and our server quickly took our drink orders. Overall the service was very good, with a couple of minor glitches. It was weird that our server asked if we wanted dessert before my wife was even halfway finished with her salad. We told him we would share a dessert, and a minute later he brought the dessert plates to the table, even though it probably took my wife another 15 minutes to finish her meal. This gave the impression that we were being rushed out, although there were plenty of empty tables around us. The other minor service issue is that our server essentially ran by and threw our bill on the table without saying a word. It all felt very "rushed" at the end. Prior to that the service was excellent.
The food was excellent. We shared deviled eggs as an appetizer. They were excellent. I wish they gave six halves instead of five, but they were really good nonetheless. We both had salads, I had the smoked chopped chicken salad. It was a large serving that included avocado, a generous portion of chicken, shredded cheddar, and crispy bacon. My wife ordered the lemongrass shrimp noodle salad and she was very pleased. I tried a piece of the shrimp (it was grilled) and it was excellent, perfectly cooked. We did share the only dessert on the menu, the whiskey cake. It was served with a generous portion of fresh made whipped cream. I loved it but my wife didn't care for it because she is not a whiskey fan. It was served with caramel sauce and pecans.
Overall it was an excellent meal in a nice environment. Service was good, not great, but the minor issues didn't interfere with our meal.
What an amazing find, we have driven by this place multiple times with intentions to go in and I am so sorry that we have not done it before now. Mallory our server was amazing, The service, the food and the atmosphere were over the top. But the drink selections were the perfect charm for this location. The fried green tomato’s are on point! One of the best old fashions I’ve had in Oklahoma City. My wife thoroughly love the espresso martinis as well. If you have not stopped by or tried this place, you are missing out!! This is going to be one of our favorite go to from now on.
The food looked amazing. I ordered the 3 little pig pork sliders appetizer and it tasted great and was enough for me to be full to a decent extent. It was a little messy while eating so I scooped up what fell with my fork.
I ordered the drink combination Afterglow. It wasn’t half bad for me being a mostly nonalcoholic drinker. Didn’t look too bad either(like I said, I’m not necessarily a wine connoisseur).
The service was fantastic!
Greg was a very awesome, respectful, and personable waiter. I wanted a filling appetizer and was able to help me choose the 3 little pig pork sliders appetizer like which had a crispy but soft bun and coleslaw which I’m not a fan of, but it worked out really great on this appetizer with their unique onions. He also helped me choose a drink according to my taste because my tongue is underdeveloped for alcoholic beverages.
The atmosphere was very nice, relaxing, and quiet. Could be a good time for friends. Although I am in my late twenties, it is more of a natural dine in pleasurable experience for people and friends in their 30s and 40s. Although I enjoyed my visit there, I would probably not return due to pricing, but it could be nice to try out. Great experience!
I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant, the food, and the atmosphere. I highly recommend coming here. It was a work lunch and we enjoyed ourselves. The salad was tasty, I didn’t care so much for the whisky cake though, it just wasn’t my thing. Beautifully set up (the restaurant). I most definitely go back for lunch there if I’m in the area. The smoked chopped chicken salad was hearty and delicious.
Whiskey Cake Kitchen and Bar, certainly lives up to its reputation, especially for whisky enthusiasts. The restaurant boasts an excellent whisky selection that impresses both novices and connoisseurs alike. The food here is equally commendable. Each dish we tried was well-prepared and flavorful, with the signature "whisky cake" standing out as an absolute must-have. It’s the perfect blend of moist, rich, and indulgent, making it a delightful end to the meal.
The service was another highlight of our visit. The staff were attentive and professional, ensuring we had a pleasant dining experience without making us feel rushed. This level of service added to the overall enjoyment of the evening.
However, one aspect that detracted from the experience was the modern atmosphere. The concrete floors, brick walls, and hard furniture contribute to a stylish, contemporary look, but unfortunately, they also make the restaurant quite loud. This acoustics issue can make conversations difficult, especially during peak hours.
In summary, Whisky Cake is a fantastic spot for enjoying top-notch food and a remarkable whisky selection, backed by excellent service. Just be prepared for a bit of noise if you visit during busy times.
Whiskey Cake is Amazing! It was a wonderful experience from start to finish! It was recommended to me by a coworker and I will definitely be back! We ordered the duck wings, Brussel sprouts. I ordered the pork chop as my entree and we had to get the whiskey cake for dessert!
I didn’t have a reservation but it definitely wouldn’t hurt to make one ahead of time to save the wait time!
Definitely recommend this place!
Abby was our server and she did excellent!
I had the best cocktail ever, called on the bay and the chicken and waffles, first time trying it and I’m glad it was here because it was the best ever! Really tasty restaurant here in Okc!
We dined at Whiskey Cake about a week ago. I always forget how much I enjoy their food. The portions are great, the food is so rich and tasty. The Chocolate Almond pie was dreamy, I highly recommend it.
